Just wondering-what's the longest you've ever made it in an offline campaign without dying? I've made it about 25 missions in a Sturmovik campaign and a few more than that in a fighter. Seems like I rarely last that long, though. I'm probably more inclined to take risks like repeatedley strafing an AA position or attacking other fighters at a huge disadvantage than I would IRL! So let's hear it-who has the most missions alive?

43 missions and even then, I died from stupidity. I would say that 95% of my pilot KIAs stem from stupidity and greed.

The longest I have gone is 53 missions in the German south campain. Then died because of stupidity and greed.

I don't know something about 15 missions... I did not count them exactly. But I will tell you that you actually *can* survive almost every mission except for those kind: You are sitting on runway with engine on waiting for take off. Then you hear siren, and that is it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif. Next thing you know some trigger happy AI pilot fills your A/C with lead. That is what, I like to say, impossible mission... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's definitely hard to survive as a Sturmovik pilot. The AA is almost more deadly than enemy fighters! It's frustrating to strafe the **** out of a 20mm position and have it blow you away because you didn't hit it exactly dead on. They need to model crew mortality on those things! It's also frustrating when whoever sets out your flight plan routs you right over an enemy airbase on your way to the target-it's almost like they WANT you to be a flak magnet.

Well, first off...they DO want you to be a flak magnet. Cos otherwise survival would be easier, and therefore less fun...apparently. I tend to disagree, I like surviving, it's WAY more fun for me.

I haven't played many offline campaigns, I'm 9 missions into The Blue campaign and haven't died yet so that's officially my longest. My shortest would be crashing on take-off on the first mission...only one that beats that is getting strafed while WAITING to take off. I can't top that. Nice work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

just disobey orders .. move out of position in the lineup open the throttle taxi past the guys in front of you and takeoff first .. sometimes you can even distract the attackers enought to let the rest of your squadron get off the ground
