Here's a video link showcasing For Honor's beautiful graphics on the an upgraded Ps4 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QATgXvU3_LU

I plan to upgrade my old ps4 because it's slowing down, but I have a concern.

In the discord channel I briefly caught a conversion between 4k graphics and fps. How does that affect gameplay, or is it just for the looks?

Edit: Didn't notice a thread was already made

You would also need a TV that can show you the full effect of those 4k. From what I seen and understand the FPS would not be lowered cos of the better graphics.

For Honor on the Pro, if you have a 4K display, will have an upscaled 4K resolution (not true 4K, but looks better than 1080p) boost, which is just a visual enhancement. Frame rate will be unaffected, as the Pro cannot give standard PS4 users a disadvantage in MP.

Though, just to be sure I answered your questions:

Upscaled 4K resolution means more pixels on the screen than 1080p, which means more crisp and detailed imagery.

Frame rate is measured in frames per second (fps), which is--in simplification terms--what I'd describe as the level of smoothness of the video in motion. It has huge impact on gameplay. The lower the choppier the animations and clunkier the gameplay, the higher the more precise the animations and controls will be.

the PS4 Pro has an updated GPU and CPU. Bigger Harddrive and faster speeds. Its twice as powerful as the PS4. If you are looking forward to getting another PS4 due to yours being slower. Then this would be a great option but bare in mind that if you do NOT have a 4K Tv you will NOT have 4K visuals. An even if you do have one, its up to the developers to have the option to output there games to 4K. Because there arent many games which has a 4K output option.
