Would be cool if the FB Mustang had M10 rocket tubes on it like they did in real life...All the Thunderbolts have em, can the Mustang please have 'em, too?

I asked this question several times and never got a response from Oleg on the subject. I am crossing my fingers that the payware version P51's will have rockets.

It definately needs rockets....slung or bazooka tubes. Or both http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Though trying to ground pound in a pony is practically suicide.

I read a quote from a F-51 pilot in Korea who said "I'd have bought my own P-47 at that point!".

But hey, it had them, so why not? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

the model 51 we have was not rocket capable, The series after them had the HVARS 5" rockets, 8 I think.

No, P-51s were qualified for the bazooka tubes. I think they used them a lot in the pacific.

AFIAK the P-51 could carry six of the HVARs...and the Jugs that we have, by the fall of 1944, could carry ten of the five-inch rockets (yes, even the D-22s still in service then...just because something better comes along you don't throw out your other hardware). Ten rockets and two 500=lb bombs were a standard tactical loadout for a P-47 fighter-bomber, and we NEED that loadout!

I can't wait for a full-on American fighter-bomber Battle of the Bulge dynamic campaign... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif (Jane's WWII Fighters reincarnated... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif )

BTW where are the Panzerblitz rockets for the FW-190F-8 we were promised??? Did I miss something? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

having the hvar's for the jug and pony would be nice. would save alot of 50 cal ammo and wouldnt have the drag of the bazooka tubes.

Had this argument before No P51D's in european theater had HVARS, and few if any carried HVARS in the Pacific WWII arena. After much research and comment on this board the only images of HVAR equipped P51's were post WWII mainly Korean war.

Yeah, I guess you missed two things:

1. they were never promised

2. especially not for this patch

Oleg said they would probably make the F-8's Panzerblitz II system for the add-on.
