Its called Kingdoms Rise. It is somewhat similiar in its combat to For Honor. I'd like to see some of its mechanics make it into this game as it really increased the skill ceiling between players and also allowed for very varied fighting styles even with the same weapons within the same class.

Here are some incredibly short videos showing different mechanics for the game.

That games combat system seems to be functionally similar to Mount and Blade except it has cancels and combos.

I don't know if you have played in any of the Alpha's yet but the combat in For Honor is incredibly deep. There are combo's, feints, dodges, guard breaks, environmental hazards, blocks, parries etc. On top of that, each character has their own special moves and unique traits and all of their weapons function differently and each character has their own unique combos.

For example.

The Warden is a good all around basic hero who is good for beginners.
However, people would be foolish to think the Warden is the easiest hero because he isn't. To play the Warden well against the better players you have to understand his combos and what makes him good. For example, as a Warden player, anyone attacking you in the top position is asking for you to counter by the Wardens special counter attack which does a ton of a damage. A good Warden player will do a top heavy attack and feint it which could bait the enemy player into trying to parry it, however, since the Warden feinted their attack the enemy player now makes the mistake of accidently attacking and the Warden can pull off their top counter attack in response.

The combat system may not seem like it is deep but it has a ton of little nuances that will keep the combat fresh and every players skill level and understanding of the mechanics will determine just how far they go in the game. Spammers will do decently but against good players will be crushed. Players who can utilize their attacks and character traits/moves in different ways and mixing them up with feints etc will go far.
