Can anyone get Shoot (aka MS SpeechSDK) to share the microphone input with other programs like Teamspeak?

I'm at a loss. My SoundMax driver and mic input can be shared by two digital-recording programs I have installed, but not by these communications programs.
Teamspeak and Rogerwilco seem to hog the input even when they are not transmitting anything, thereby denying any other software from accessing the mic.

Anyone had success?

yes I can
but the problem is a bit: I have to set shoot of after I gave an input so I press f10 to mute shoot, press f12 to say something in teamspeak
and when needed press F10 again to give shoot a command http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

LOL
it isn't convinient but works

Unless I'm missing something obvious, you simply set both up as Push To Talk and assign different keys to both. Or at least that works for me using Shoot 1.6 {key F9} and [Ventrillo, Teamspeak, RogerWilco...{all key F12}]. Essentially, you talk into one or the other.

So for my X-45 profile, I have PinkieShift+Launch mapped to F9 and just Launch mapped to F12 (or something like that).

I think it is driver dependent, even though I have audio applications that can share alternate use of an input.
The people this has worked for probably have mid-range soundcards and/or usb microphones(?)
I'm interested if anyone with a SoundMax onboard chipset has got Shoot to work alongside Teamspeak/Rogerwilco?
Anyone out there?

No USB here. Just a plain 'ol analog headset mic.

You don't need Saitek stick/drivers to map stuff. What key/button do you use for push-to-talk now? Just set up each piece of software to recognize a different button push. You do have buttons on your joystick, right? How do you set them up?

You can get a Saitek Cyborg 3d gold for like $25 (maybe less on ebay) and the latest drivers from their website.

of course, this allows you to have a voice activated trim slider... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yep, lots of people saying that shoot and teamspeak work together as long as they alternate the use of the mic input; I knew this pretty much already.
However, it is driver dependent. My onboard SoundMax chipset driver does not even allow the two programs to be loaded at the same time. The problem is not mapping buttons. It is getting both programs to relenquish control of the mic input when they are not actually transmitting.
I know its a long shot, but I was hoping that someone with a SOUNDMAX chipset had found a work-around for the driver limitations.
Thanks for all the replies regarding USB headsets and proper soundcards; I'm jealous that I don't have one! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
