I haven't decided whether or not to put out the full write-up which is very long. But I'll give you these 3 now.

1. AI rear gunners and bomber gunners much more realistic, very well done. They don't shoot an ultra-accurate laser stream of bullets at you any more. They are much more erratic with the guns even moving from side to side at times. They also seem to fire at more appropriate times. Ship flak seems toned down also. This should help survival in offline campaigns greatly.

2. MK-108 is much more accurate and effective (like it was in IL-2), one shot usually means one kill. Didn't see any "dud" 30mm rounds like before. I don't know if they did before or not, can't remember, but MK-108 rounds now explode on ground.

3. Sometimes when you saw off the end of a wing the plane will go into a very real-looking, violent spin like you see in gun-camera footage.

Hope this answers some questions and I hope I didn't upset anyone. And please don't ask me any questions, I can't/won't answer them. Remember any of this is subject to change.

Cheers

Thanks for the info...one question though:

Have the P-40 and P-47 been fixed?

Won't answer questions, I'm sorry but this would get out of hand. Again, sorry. At least you don't need to hear any more complaints about MK-108 and sniper AI gunners.

According to someone who shall remain nameless (he truely isn't me, no winking here either, he really isn't me), the P-47 is different for the better as a heavy fighter. Now you do need to think about that, the P-47 is the heaviest piston engine fighter in FB and so it will not out turn anything. But it does roll better. Overall he said the P-47 felt more real and was more capable in the hands of a veteran heavy fighter pilot, but if you fly her like an La7 then you will surely die. The Fw 190's have better high speed handling at low altitude but high altitude is still f*cked. I cannot confirm any of this to be true as I am not the one who did the testing. It was done by a buddy at HL.

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

Doh!, you remember my online name. I'm flattered. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Man this is tough, I don't know whether or not to put the full write up in or not.

Ok, here is my analogy to giving out the rest of the info;

Say there was a pizza place called Oleg's Pizza (FB and the forum), and you ate there alot and liked their customers and their pizza. But one day in a back room chef Oleg decides to give his secret taste testers 2 slices each of his special new recipe. Now one of those taste testers (the rat who leaked) pulls out this great looking piece of new recipe pizza (test patch) from under his coat and offers it to you. You take it (this is where I was wrong but stay with me), because you know Oleg can make better pizza. You then try it and it is delicious. You run back into the store excited and see all the customers looking very complacent/unexcited, and sometimes you hear people yell out for Oleg to fix/improve his pizza, and sometimes the place is down-right hostile. Then you think of the newcomers to Oleg's place and wonder if any of them walk in and see unhappy faces and hear complaints and decide to leave. Now you know that when Oleg changes his recipe it will be a hit, but you want things to be better at Oleg's place now, so what do you do?

This is meant to be funny and serious at the same time. But hopefully you see my point, please don't judge me whatever I decide. I mean the best.

Great parable, kyrules! If I was looking for a pizza, and I saw all the long faces, I wouldn't set one foot into pizza place. I would give up on finding good pizza, and goto Shoney's Restaurant (CFS3).

So, I've heard the P40 dive is fixed - and yes, the mk108 can blow the p47 up good with a nice shot.

I heard the p47 didn't seem all that different actually - but the person I heard it from didn't really know the p47 that well.

I heard the firing sounds were different - sounded better. A bit more muted - like the sound didn't play as long.

I heard when coming behind a group of 4 pe3's non flyables that it was just like FB.

I'll see what else I can find from that person.

He holds all the cards here. This is just a reminder that he holds all the cards. You people are lucky that he takes time out of his busy schedule to post this stuff. I mean, he has some serious observations to document. The very history of flight-sims may be changed by this patch, so you people need to be patient while he carefully words each moment of dissection. Calm down little people, Kyrule2 has this whole 'patch thing' under controll. Just a few more momments before the emporer speaks. Quiet down!

- 1. AI rear gunners and bomber gunners much more
- realistic, very well done. They don't shoot an
- ultra-accurate laser stream of bullets at you any
- more. They are much more erratic with the guns even
- moving from side to side at times. They also seem to
- fire at more appropriate times. Ship flak seems
- toned down also. This should help survival in
- offline campaigns greatly.

Kyrule2, nice work.

- 2. MK-108 is much more accurate and effective (like
- it was in IL-2), one shot usually means one kill.
- Didn't see any "dud" 30mm rounds like before. I
- don't know if they did before or not, can't
- remember, but MK-108 rounds now explode on ground.

OOooooh.

- 3. Sometimes when you saw off the end of a wing the
- plane will go into a very real-looking, violent spin
- like you see in gun-camera footage.

AAaaaaah.

- Hope this answers some questions and I hope I didn't
- upset anyone.

Thank you Mr. Prime Minister. Ladies and gentlemen: Elvis has left the building.

- And please don't ask me any questions,
- I can't/won't answer them. Remember any of this is
- subject to change.
-

These last two sentances say it all.

If you take offense to my reply: you'll get over it, I hope.

Yes it was, but that was because it entered vicious high speed stalls if you turned too fast and the engine didn't work well above 7000m, not because you were unable to turn. Also, I am merely repeating what someone else told me, so I can't give my oppinion on whether it is messed up or not.
