Turns out there is a Tu-2 here in New Mexico. A buddy and I were planning on going down to the air museum it's at, thought I'd try and take some pictures, but if cockpit details were nonexistant I'd see if they'd let me shoot some.

They have a Fieseler Storch, too.

Yeah, it's about 4 hours south of here. I was gonna ask if I could take pictures in the cockpit if it wasn;t information already available.

I'll take pictures regardless, it's just a matter of how proactive I would become to get into the cockpit. If it wasn;t available any other way, I'd make myself extra convincing.

Well, I think the prospect of accurately modelling a Tu-2 has been considered, and decided that it couldn't really be done. Lack of true material.

But if you are gonna take pictures, take pictures of everything from lots of different angles. All stations, radio position, cockpit instruments, gunner stations, etc etc etc. More is good, and even more is better.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the pix!!

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!

I believe I have pictures of that Tu-2 already, and it doesn't help us because the lettering inside the cockpit is of an asian language, not cyrillic. The Tu-2 was probably captured during the Korean War from the Koreans. It is a later model that only bears resemblance to our Tu-2S on the outside, mostly.
