How ironic, I was just reading a couple a days ago that MSFFB2 was being discontinued and all of a sudden mine starts acting up..

Anyone know a remedy for when the fire button (button #1) starts sticking and skipping etc. ?

Thanks

Airmikey

Clean it with Contact spray...

If that doesn't work, try replacing the button.

If that doesn't wotk

Buy a new joystick.

Yes I have repaired two FFB2's that had this problem;
It's the two pins that go throughh the small printed circuit board behind the trigger, that fix the actual activating button that the trigger makes contact with, to the board. The solder for some reason(cant think of what it might be hehe) loosens at these points allowing just enough movement so that your trigger does not hit the button at the angle required every time, hence erratic operation of guns.
A hot iron tinned with solder touched on each pin while the button is held in position, re-attaches and reinforces the button and problems are solved.
Caution in using only as much heat as is required to pool the joint is the only thing to keep an eye on really, it's a little fiddly and attention to where things came from when removing them will assure it goes together with a minimum of fuss or violence.
Good luck!
