Was wondering if it will have settings like this for single player and a ruleset like that for a multiplayer mode.

That would make the battles more intense and realistic, plus would make the defense system more valuable, successful defense and successful offense more rewarding.

It would also help improves players skills and reaction timing since skilled defense and timing becomes more important survival, leading to more incredible feel during and after fights, and players take each duel more intensely and the weapons feel much more like sharp lethal weapons.

perhaps it could be called hardcore or something.

If I recall correctly from the batch of videos last year, if you land all heavy attacks, you can kill another player in about three hits anyway, so I don't think this will need a separate rule-set for multiplayer, and in single-player it depends on who you're fighting.

In the Viking mission, for example, there are what someone (can't remember if it was someone here or a dev) called captains, which are basically minions that you engage with the Art of Battle and they only take 1-3 strikes to take down, and the Hero characters, which again, differ in health (Orochi only need a couple heavy strikes as well, Kensei need about 5, and the Shugoki needs a few more than that) and damage output (Orochi and Kensei take about a section and a half of your health if I remember right, and Shugoki can take half the bar if he hits you).

Difficulty has been discussed (here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1463092-In-Regards-To-Boss-Battles-and-Difficulty?), here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1465741-General-More-detailed-footsoldier-mook-AI-and-habits?), and here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1461684-User-Interface-Discussion-E3-2016?p=11775773&viewfull=1#post11775773)), but are mostly concerned with the aggression of the enemies in campaign and minions in multiplayer.

Hardcore mode has also been discussed and asked for (here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1206187-hardcore-and-arcade-mode?) and here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1463473-Changing-the-UI?)), but that's more about extensively toning down or entirely eliminating the HUD.

This year the Viking demo had the difficulty tuned down so it would be easily accessible for everyone.

However Emile and the guys from the Masterclass said the game would be much more difficult although they didn't go into specifics about a difficulty setting. The Alpha however allowed you to fight against AI and the AI were no god damn joke. I honestly believe the AI was too good during the Alpha as it wasn't uncommon for them to block literally everything you threw at them with expert timing and precision. Honestly the AI stomped quite a few people but became manageable once you really figured out the controls.

Good to know.
