Do you have more info on the 2 new LaGGs we are getting? I used to fly this plane quite a lot, and it was a pleasant surprise to see new variants coming.

This is the only website I've found with some data: http://www.ctrl-c.liu.se/misc/ram/lagg-3-more.html
They both seem to be mid-way between the early LaGGs and the late 1943 version we already have.

Thing is that they both share the same specs:

Year: 1942
Engine: Klimov M-105 PF 1180 hp
Max Weight: 3160 Kg
Max. Speed sea level: 507 Km/h
1x 12.7 mm UB mg
1x 20 mm ShVAK cannon

The website mentions only these differences:
- 29/33 Series had new propeller with slightly re-shaped spinner and slightly different rudder (improved hinges)
- 35 Series was equipped with automatic slats (previously tested on 22 Series) to improve stall/landing characteristics, also differed by retractable tailwheel.

Is that all? Any performance differences worth mentioning?

Thanks,

Its probably an attempt to try and even the balance out between Luftwaffe and VVS aircraft around this period. The LaGG was fairly prevalent and we really only had 2 versions (excluding the 37mm cannon one) to represent about 3 and a half years of conflict. So no doubt adding a couple of new versions means better performance "parity" (in terms of historical comparison) between the two types.

Probably the differences are somewhat minor in the grand scheme of things...likely it was easy to add these planes to the lineup. Externally I don't see much different.

I see... Just a move to fill the gap between 1941 and 1943. It makes sense, why not. It's easy to do.

The engine is the same as in the 1943 '66 series we already have, but these new LaGGs are a bit heavier, so I wouldn't expect any improvement in performance at any altitude.

At least they could add a couple of new skins. They would be welcome online, since these days most servers don't allow skin downloads.

These new LaGGs are made of bulletproof deltawood, too?

They are all part of the great conspiracy against you. Look out behind!
