Here is a second new Amazon.com listing for another Assassin's Creed Book called "Heresy: an Assassin's Creed Story":

https://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-Heresy-…/…/1945210028

The book will be available starting November 1st, 2016, it will cost 14,99$ and it will come in a paperback edition of 320 pages.
The author is Christie Golden, the same writer for the "BlackBeard - The lost Journal" and "The Abstergo Entertainment: Employee Handbook".

From New York Times bestselling author Christie Golden comes an original story set in the universe of Assassin’s Creed. Reliving the memories of his ancestor who fought beside Joan of Arc, high-ranking Templar Simon Hathaway slowly uncovers secrets of the past that could dangerously impact his present…and that of the entire Templar order.

An endless conflict. An old wrong. A new revelation.

Simon Hathaway, member of the Templar Inner Sanctum, brings a cool head and detached manner to his new role as Head of Abstergo Industry’s Historical Research Division.

But Simon also has an insatiable curiosity, and is fascinated by the thought of experiencing history first-hand through his ancestor--Gabriel Laxart, who fought alongside the legendary Joan of Arc.

When he enters the newly-designed Animus for its initial project, Simon finds himself unprepared for what he discovers: How deep the conflict between the Templars and the Assassins goes. What Gabriel will do for the woman he both loves and reveres.

And the most dangerous truth of all: Who is the heretic…and who is the true believer.

^ I wrote "novel" in the title for a reason.

On the one hand, it's cool that they're using established lore as inspiration for new stories. On the other, I'm always worried that going into too much detail about the more mysterious aspects of any series will end up ruining the mystery. The Joan stuff was one of the creepiest glyphs, I'd hate for her to turn out to be a boring character or something. But it could be good, what do I know. :)

Kind of interesting, I wonder if it will tie in to anything.

I'd be willing to bet that Hathaway is in the film- or, maybe this is just a sort of introduction to the new Animus.

Interesting. The Joan of Arc story would have made for an interesting game setting, but I guess we did France already. At least this has some modern day stuff too.

Oh yeah I'm gonna pick this up. I read most of Christie Golden work for Blizzard games and they usually don't disappoint.

As for France...well, I'd like to think that one day we'll revisit some of the countries set in different periods. But it was a little weird, I guess, that Joan didn't make at least an easter egg appearance in ACU since she did wield the sword of eden at one point.
