As some of you may have noticed there has been some conflict among several virtual Erich Hartmanns' regarding the right to use the luftwaffe experten's name on-line.

I have started a new thread with a challenge to all Erich Hartmann's flying on-line to the following:

Arrange a preset date and time on HL in a suitable mission room for a shoot-out, last man standing duel.

1. All contestants must fly the same plane (preferably the same model Bf109 that the real Hartmann flew most frequently (read: most missions), full real game settings.

2. Chose a "non-Hartmann", not associated with either contestants squadron, to generate a simple, low objects dogfight mission. Each Hartmann takes off from his base at the same time and the last one in the air, actually flying his plane, retains the right to use the name Hartmann. If you crash on take-off or otherwise cannot finish the mission, you are eliminated. All losers will forfeit that right and must change their name.

3. Since there may be other Hartmanns that want to join in on this duel, I would recommend that all fly at the same time, every pilot for himself. Elimination rounds would be out of the question considering the fact that there would be arguements about who would fly first against who, etc.

4. Further details could be worked out using a moderator as the final word.

If you are all great pilots and feel that you deserve the "right" to wear the name of Erich Hartmann, here is your chance to prove it. Also if the name means so much to you personally, you will show up and fight for the right. There it is. Either put-up or shut your pie-hole.
This could be the dogfight to talk about for some time to come.
