I like copy & play all originals IL2 mission to IL2FBAEP to compare AI, effects etc... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Mission runs always very well, but clouds shadows are totally missing in AEP ...
I Play (as Oleg's readme instructions) very well with OpenGL and perfect settings in AEP and Excellent in IL2.
(no perfect option in the old game)
I note that there are in both the aircrafts shadows over the water.
I have tried again others missions with differents altitude clouds, ...again n-o-t-h-i--n-g http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
...Yours comments ? Do it's a bug ?

try to:

turn landscape detail on : high/excellent
clouds on detailed

in il2setup.exe check "use stencil buffer" and you should have awesome cloudshadows in excellent mode (without stencil buffer checked excellent landscape dont work I think)

or just compare ingame settings from il2 and il2setup.exe settings , if FB settings differ change em to your il2 settings and everything should be the same

Yep I get Awsum cloud shadows when I upgraded to my new ATI 9200.

With my old Savage and Trident mobo videos I saw just a hint of cloud shadow.

Obviously you have some setting wrong somewhere because there are cloud shadows in both Excellent and Perfect mode.

Excellent and Perfect modes here...VERY nice shadows from the clouds. Most visible around 12:00 hours with good conditions.

Yup... check if detailed clouds in on. It sounds like a individual issue.

hmm, detailed clouds enable shadows? I never thought of that. When I first got the FB even with my old Trident video card I set my clouds on Detailed and never went back -- lol that shows its time for new larger clouds, or more of them.

Interesting tip...When I got my ATI 9200 I found a Feature I never saw before. Forgot which one without firing up the FB, but one of the below settings in "conf" file set to " =0 " gives detailed clouds all the way to map horizon (20km) about twice as far as my previous detailed clouds distance. Set it at " =1 " and I get detailed clouds to maybe 10km only like I had seen before.

The other setting (again I forgot which is which) by changing it to " =1 " turns the mottled high level clouds--cirrocumulus clouds it seems--to smooth dense white clouds like smooth cirrus. A nice change in atmosphere that is all.
