I have removed all subtitles, all cockpit words, but I still get the mission failed/ success words. What do I need to alter to get rid of that, please?

Just being curious, why do you want to deactivate that text?

I can't speak for the other guys, but it's not unusual to get 8 or 10 lines of text (online co-op) covering almost 1/3 of the top center of the screen. I wish there was a way to set limits on the amount of lines displayed, that would be the best of both worlds, because you sometimes get good info from AI. You also get all the other stuff from them that can give you an avalanche of text and block your view. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif I long ago turned the radio voices off to minimize confusion, especially when talking to teammates on voice comms.

Should I answer this, I wonder? Because some will not understand. But I will, take it however you wish.

I`m looking for realism. When I shoot an enemy aircraft down I don`t want to see `enemy aircraft destroyed` pop up, I want to either really check or hear my wingman tell me (which he usually does), or wait till I get back to base.

When I`ve succeeded in a mission, I don`t want to be magically told with floating words on the screen. I want to see and `guess` by the damage I`ve done or whether I`ve protected the convoy succesfully. Only back at base might I know how well it went.

I`m just looking for immersiveness, that`s all and it`s my own personal choice. I don`t want to be walkied through like a kid in a park led by parents. As I said it`s just the way I wish to fly it.

@Sea_Fire

Agree absolutely! that's the way we do it in our mini-squadron (four members only on a LAN). We don't set any goals in our coop-missions.

After the flight we watch the *.ntrks, to see if the requestet goal (written in the briefing-text!) was achieved or not.

That's why its very important for us, that *.ntrks show what happend (bugged *.ntrks are useless!) - I hobe oleg will take note of that for future patches.

sorry for my bad english - not my home language!

SeaFire, I see you found a number of suggestions in another thread http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I hope also that Oleg incorporates an option to do away with ALL HUD words including Mission Success/Failed. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BTW, you`re English is great. In all honesty I would say, it`s we, the English who are terrible when it comes to other people`s languages! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Well, thx for the reply. I can understand your desire here, and although I don't fully share it, I agree that the option to deactivate those text lines should be given.

I've tried getting rid of the hud-messages too but encountered a problem with some planes. Those where you can't see the coiler flaps from inside the cockpit - then you've got to count how many times you tab to know the possition of the radiator... Flying with no huds would require a radiator on-a-slider (whoups! did I say that?) or keys for every possition. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

The real difficulty comes from the lack of radiater warnings. It`s ok in the P40 cos that has a big red light that flashes up. LA5 was more difficult because there`s no obvoius warning. I have to watch my radiater dial and another dial (can`t remember name, I`ll post a screenshot one day), if the dial stays past a little white dot longer than 20secs then you start overheating. I tested for many missions with HUD on to see this. Radiater is tap 5 times for full open, 1 will close, 5 open. 5-1-5-1 As long as you remember that it`s not so bad.

The truth is I don`t advise no HUD unless you KNOW your plane VERY well(meaning knowing the animations and dials in cockpit). For new starters P40 is a good one with no HUD.

Ok - but there are other things I don't wanna know - for example which part of the a/c have been disabled or if your fuel tank is leaking etc. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Well it would be perfect to be able to edit out specific warnings and just leave things like, `Radiator overheating` but as far as I know it`s not possible.
