Would it be possible to model what type of bullets we have? Be em tracers, or just have all non tracers?

That would be nice. In combat, not all pilots used tracers. The theory being that the tracers only gave the pilot a rough idea of where his rounds were going and if he missed with the first burst, the tracers would alert his intended target.

Now the question for us: do the AI watch for tracers or do they magically know when we are shooting at them. If they have magical knowledge, then the lack of tracers only serves to make it hard on us when playing off line. On line play would be totally different.

Not only that, but in this game and in real life, Tracers have a higher trajectory so if hes hitting with tracers he's missing with every other 4 rounds.

At this stage I'm just hoping for correct api shot effects and maybe some incendiary ammo.
