which thermal scope do you think is better, the old one with the blue, red etc. or the new one?

anyway, on the new screenshots the red crosshairs are not aligned properly with the scopes crosshairs. they better fix it.

Anyway, both thermal scopes are great. Here's a question though. What happens after a guy gets shot dead? His body will soon lose heat, but will the thermal be equiped with that property, like in Splinter Cell. When someone dies, the body slowly fades out with the thermal scope because a dead person no longer generate heat. I hope that will be implemented into Raven Shield.

same, the new one is nice and simple.

they should let you see the blood when u r looking thru the thermal scope. (splinter cells thermal is FANTASTIC)

the black and white one is more realistic- but I wouldn't mind if they had the 'predator style' one, again- we have heart beat sensors, why not colorful thermal vision?

maybe let players unlock it as a secret weapon? let multiplayer servers decide which they want to allow, perhaps?

I'm not impressed with the new thermal at all. The older thermal was much more impressive.

I see alot of half and half people here.

There are a few groups.

The REALISM ppl who like the new thermal and other realistic features.

The people who say they want realism but they want some non realism but proclaim they are all for realism.

Then there are those that want stuff that another game has.

This is RAVEN SHIELD not SPLINTER CELL or any other game.
If you like SPLINTER CELL go play it.

What would be the point of UBI going to the trouble to make a new game if all some people want is an old game with updated stuff and crap from a different game added in.

Be happy with what they are doing, or dont bother having anything to do with Rvs.

I love sniping with thermals in the winter. They keep you toasty warm.

firstly, why can't you be for realism and still want the colorful thermal vision?

if the standard for evaluating the realism associated with a particular gadget is whether or not it exists now, then we shouldn't have heart beat sensors

the game is set in 2008, it is entirely plausible for more sophisicated forms of thermal vision to exist

secondly, thermal vision in Raven Shield can not be realistic. thermal vision can only be utilized when it is dark and when the temperature is low... this kind of environment creates the contrasts in heat necessary to distinguish bodies

using thermal vision as x-ray vision is also a bit of stretch... can a body inside a building truly raise the temperature of a wall sufficiently for a thermal scope to detect the person inside?

rainbow six is a tactical shooter with elements of realism- it is not meant to be a military simulation. ubisoft should be allowed a reasonable degree of flexibility with issues of realism- this is why the heart beat sensor can exist

i like the old one more (old = "Predator") more cool that way...

and about the body heat after death, it takes time before the body is totally cold so u wouldnt even notice it in the game! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The old thermal scope with various colors looked awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new one is "ok" a bit to plain in my view. I think they should have left it how it was.

I hope they put the old thermal vision back, sure it's not entirely realistic. But there's nothing wrong with a little eye candy every once in a while.

i dont think they use thermals in just cold areas.. abrams tanks use them in daytime in desert storm, im sure it wasnt chilly there.

anyways.. just watned to chime in with that..

The other one was more visualy impressive, but the new one looks alot closer to the real-life devices I have seen. The ultimate test will be the gameplay, did they make the thermal vision more/less effective? We will have to wait and see.

the old ver was more cool looking and futuristic. But it looked like a HBS converted to a scope nad insted of HB its thermal engergy. The old one IMO was better but the new one is more realistic and i like that. SOi'm half and half

after you snipe someone using thermal and you still see their "thermal image," that's correct. technically at average room temp, which is 78 degrees, it takes about one hour for the body to cool down from 98.6 degrees.
