What's a book? I did just download that japanese boys choir song sung towards the end, had it in my head the other day and couldn't get it out. I did like the movie!

I love the movie, have yet to read the book.

I know that when ever I see a Spitfire do a flybye at airshows, people think that I appear to go mad because I'm jumping up and down screaming with pure delight and excitement :P

I mean, imagine it. Picture your favourite aircraft doing extra low flybys, strafing, dropping bombs, the excitement alone would send me mad! Just as long as I don't get killed in the process...

for those whom have read the book!
are their any explanation how the hell he (the Boy) knows it is p51 mustangs in the end, idont think the japanesse captors where giving the prisoners english/american newspaper because of the war stories told in them.
even if he was a airplane fanatic he wouldnt know what plane it was, only that it had an american star on it.

I think that Mustang POW got about 5 seconds worth of coverage in the movie. Wasn't a Mustang driver shown parachuting near the boy just after the attack on the airfield?

The author, J.G. Ballard was actually born in 1930 in Shanghai (he's British) and spent the war in a Japanese prison camp as a child, a lot of that book contains autobiographical elements. Like many of his books, they become... a bit surreal at some point (this one later and less than most).

Also the song sung at the end of the movie is Welsh, not Japanese.
