Not exactly sure what you're talking about...but have you hit 'SHIFT/F1' to center the gunsight? Also, some (if not all) german planes have a reticle dimmer - see your controls menu to setup the hotkey.

I think it's CTRL and D for the reticle dimmer. I haven't found much use for it though lol.

Pack an extra chute or put a phone book under your arse.

Oh, and stop that slouching. It's bad for your back.

Didn´t get your point. AFAIK the only problem is I-153, that iron gunsight...

Have no idea what your talking about.

The gunsight is just that, a gun sight.

The metal bars are a little annoying sometimes though.

ill make it more simple you should be able to see the nose of your plane trough the gunsight
and in the la7 and the bf you cant

this is in order to be able to make deflection shots

Hes talking about the fact that your pilot cant move around & view the aiming sight @ differant angles, it would be nice to be able to raise & lower the seats and slide them as well, the eye on a stick strikes again.

least thats what im getting our of it......

That's exactly how I understand it too, AFJ

I wonder why no one has complained about razorback P-47 sights? Talk about obstructions!

I sort of like that sight though, lends a lot of character to the plane and doesn't really throw off your aim too badly.

I can't stand the guided reticle. The shaded glass also seems more an impediment causing less contrast and distinction of a/c under most situations, other than direct sunlight.

I don't wanna see the nose of my plane when i'm shooting, i'm not shooting at the nose of my plane. I rather dislike those planes where the nose obstructs the gunsight view (like Spitfire), might as well just have a solid metal bar across the bottom of your sight in that case lol.

Well, if it makes anyone feel better, the era of aircraft we are 'flying' is not one that had ergonomics in mind. Form followed function. The razorback P-47 is a case in point. I'm sure many pilots didn't like that vertical windscreen brace bisecting their view. But that's what they got. "I don't want" was not an option or a concern. What we have in FB is the best representation of these gunsights and planes I've ever seen.

In the P-51D-20NA, I can see the nose sometimes, not really in the gunsight recticle, but I can see it. It's in the way occasionally when I manuever...but then again, so are the wings. Miles of airspace covered by the wings. While I might not like the view impaired at all, I understand that this was a problem in real life in some instances more than others, but a problem nonetheless. I don't want anything 'sanitized' just so it's the most convenient, easy to use, pilot-friendly thing, for the simple reason that it's in the way.

Canopy bracing has been discussed a lot because of this. Yeah, the bracing gets in my way sometimes. But I want it there much much more than I am inconvenienced by it. I don't want 'transparent' braces or anything. I don't fly in externals for any reason other than to look ata the pretty planes, and I don't fly cockpit off.

I like sims like FB because it's my own personal Time Machine. I want the immersion factor up, regardless of whether or not I have a recticle partially obscured or not. That's how I play, play how you like http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Remember...real pilots have stereoscopic vision, our pilots vision is being viewed on a monitor and thus we don't benefit from having two slightly different perspectives to give us depth and the ability to see around small bars that may otherwise be in the way.

what i mean is very simple the bigger the nose the less downwards view but in many planes the donwards view is obstacled by the gunsight solid part

i cant believe is so dificult to understand

Do what I did, get it shot out in a head on pass http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif. Works every time, does make shooting a bit more difficult though.

Well, there seems to be a communication issue between us, in the form of a language barrier. Perhaps you are using the wrong words to express yourself, but I feel that I understand perfectly. You yourself are misunderstanding what has been posted, I think. A lot of things have been posted as examples of how this is an issue not restricted to gunsights, but that doesn't mean that we don't understand that you aren't happy you can't see through 100% of the gunsight.

If this still isn't want you mean, I can only suggest that the problem is one of you not communicating what you mean well enough. English is my native language, and I can say without doubt that you are not choosing words that make your posts easy to read or understand.

I can only assume that English is not your native language. To make your posts more clear, maybe someone who is fluent in both languages can translate for you before you post?

If English IS your native language, I am sorry, but you are not very good at communicating with it. Don't get upset at me if this is the case: It's not my fault you are poor at English.
If English is your native language, more precision on your part in word meaning and expression of your problem will undoubtably produce better results. "Obstacles the view" and "solid part" are not very descriptive. Don't make us guess what you mean http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
