This has been discussed in several other threads. I suggest you search for them. I will say that I have it and like it. It was worth the $25 IMO. I bought it for a friend and he loves it.

You can also find some reviews on the JustFlight site.

If you fly offline it is an essential.

I'm a 95% offliner and all I can say is: get it! It's just great and there is a patch coming soon (hopefuly http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif ) that will bring in some other nice campaigns.

Before buying it make sure you like the campaigns that shipped with the original game. I mean really make sure that you like sitting in front of your computer for an extended period of time flying in formation to find that your only reward was to be shot down by your own wingmen.

I'm not saying that the addon is bad, its actually top notch, it does everything that it sets out to do. All I'm saying is if you didn't like playing the campaigns to begin with you're not going to enjoy them any more on the western front.

Like the original campaingns, the missions become extremely repetative and I felt that the skins included with the addon, while very nice, were still outclassed by a lot of the work that you can download for free from il2skins.com

Another thing to keep in mind before buying the addon is your computer specs. Whether attacking them or escorting them, those B-17 formations can be extremely taxing on your system. With 1 gig of ram and a decent graphics card along with a 2.8ghz processor the I was able to run the addon with little trouble but I still got occasional stutter.

Personally I wasn't that impressed by it but many people have really enjoyed BOE. It really all comes down to what you like to do in IL2.

Thanks all, for comments.

Yes, I play offline only and enjoy flying for long hauls to and from target areas http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
