Did my ears play tricks on me or did Extreme_One & Poymando (the guys who made the excellent RAF B.o.B Campaign) use CF1 .wav files for some of the radio transmissions?

Somethings I heard over the radio sounded very familiar and kind of nostalgic.

Let's hope the bogieman from Microsoft won't be able to find them. :-)

But what a great campaign it is!

The credits for the voice actors are listed in the readme. Considerably time was spent getting these people (who volunteered from this board as I recall) together and doing the work...hopefully it does sound the same if its authentic but I'm pretty sure that its all new and not from Microsoft so neither they nor their boogiemen should be over here...they should probably be trying to find the guy who leaked parts of the Windows source code http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Probably better to hear it from the horses mouth but I'm reasonably sure that its all from scratch.

Hello Gentlemen,

Both of you are correct in a way, many people get confused of what is actually the voice pack and what is the 'radio chatter'.

Let me explain,

The voices from your wingmen and other pilots, control tower and bomber crew all were made from 'scratch' by members of this same board. This project in particular took about 4 months of hard work and attention to detail. This is the famous "RAF Commonwealth Voicepack" that many here like. There are a total of 9 genuine voice 'actors' from : Canada, England, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. This project was added to the "RAF Campaign" that many of you enjoy.

The other part, included as a 'last minute' addition to the "RAF Campaign" by Poymando and Extreme One is the "RAF Radio Chatter", this is only a collection of about 4 sound files that play in a loop instead of your background "flight music" and these are composed by voices and sound files from other WW2 flight sims ( you are correct some did come from CFS1 ) and real life recordings from RAF pilots! So there you have it! Hope this explains it all but I wrote a similar explanation in the readme file. Take a look at it, gives much credit to all those who contributed to this great project! Hope you continue to enjoy it!

I do have 1 very minor criticism of the voice pack NTESLA.I was flying an IL2 low level in a full real server when I hit a pocket of air and bounced a little bit.Now normally you'd get a guy shouting over the radio in Russian "oh no stop that".Instead my rear gunner insists we're under attack and there's the sound of machine gun fire.Needless to say I took evasive action to avoid this invisible enemy and I have to tell you now, you owe me 1 new pair of underpants. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif
