Well I haven't been here for a long while but seeing as Patrice Desilets rightfully owns 1666 Amsterdam I came back for a little bit I guess. Anyway after seeing concept art for 1666 Amsterdam I see one image that looks pretty similar to Jacob frye...

Bird-head canes I thnk are common enough to not have to be lifted from this one concept.

And that silhouetted guy is wearing the Dutch Top Hat, while Jacob sports a hood.

So no connection...aside from a superficial resemblance to the Dude-In-Longcoat archetype which tends to make them resemble each other.

So, topcanes are now an AC invention....?

There is around 200 years difference between the two games' settings, so I cant see there being any reason to use art from one game in the other. There are going to be natural similarities when the games are the same genre.

No similarity but the cane. I don't even think the 1666 guy is wearing a cloak/trenchcoat, it looks like a cape to me.

At any rate, given AC's propensity to slap eagle imagery everywhere and the fact that those canes actually exist...

...I doubt they needed to lift from 1666 to get the idea for that cane.

Yeah... I think its doubtful that they used the artwork.
