Okay guys, this is failing to become pleasant, I know its a small percentage, but there appears to be a clique within this site, where certain people can post things, yet myself, despite being the prime example of politeness throughout, and giving FULL references and sources for all my arguments, is for some reason censored from answering on a valid historical subject.

Now when my friendly, polite final request to end that particular thread is mysteriously deleted, the poster then making sure I visited the original thread again by including a link!
Once there I was met by an easily argued against entry that I looked forward to dealing with AGAIN. Only to find out I couldn't. That's odd. Does this guy get some kind of kick about having the last word ?
Then enough is enough.

All I will say before I go for good (after making a complaint to Ubisoft first) is to add one more historical myth that is an example of what some US books can produce, for whatever reason -

According to USN accounts, F6F Hellcats (TF.58) accounted for 332 Japanese planes destroyed in the air over the Tokyo region on Feb 16-17 1945. Sounds good eh? Well again not true.
Japanese records, easily checked with the aid of an interpreter, say 30 JNAF planes lost and the JAAF say 48 lost in air combat.
Interesting.

Perhaps that will give skychump some more work to do, don't bother on my account though, because this is one place I won't be bothering with again.

Must admit I've enjoyed it whilst it was fair play! Tally-ho !

Yea, for all we know the Japanese could have false records. The germans would do the same in "lowering" losses in order not to lower the moral of citizens and soldiers.

Its easy to see the loses for real once the US got there and saw the wreakage. So 48 yea right!

Dude, this is the english euro forum. The UK Community Manager (notice the "UK" part of that title) is from Scotland, and considering Ubi is a french company, and 1C is a russian company (although Russia would more be considered as a Eurasian country?? Perhaps the ideal subject for more semantic rubbish to be spouted??), and then consider that everyone posts here in english, that would say to me that this forum is an english euro forum. It's just that non-europeans also post here from time to time.

Tooz, this is the English language forum. It has nothing to do with what country we are from, or where the moderators are from, or where the server is. (California I believe.)

Not a personal thing either mate, just pointing it out.

Hmm, I take any claims by all sides as wishful thinking. I have three sources on these raids. One, a Sakaida book says the US claimed 344 kills, and Sakaida says the actual loss was 78. Another book I have by Japanese historians is a little different. It only discusses JAAF, and it says the JAAF claimed a total of 51 losses. Losses would most assuredly mean in the air, though wether they count loss as pilot wounded or killed, or plane lost is confusing. Third book is just a book about Japan in WWII, it is old though. It says the US claimed 341 kills in the air, 190 ground kills and 49 losses. All sources are probably wrong to some extent http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well since this thread was directed solely at me for locking that long droning thread of yours and asking you since when Britain was a "race" and not a nation...... and even after I apologized for an honest mistake in deleting a portion of your post you insult me by insinuating that I am playing favorites or trying to censor you. I got news for you pal. You arent THAT important that I have to gang up on you with SKYCHIMP!! THE BIG AMERICAN BRAIN!! to shoot you down. Besides the last thing SkyChimp needs is me to help him debate you or anyone else on this forum... or probably any other venue for that matter. To show you I have no "last word" fetish and probably to the delight/chagrin of many of the forum members including some of moderator compadres here I will leave this thing open so you can vent .. even though you promised you would not be back I'm sure an obviously modest ego the likes of yours can't resist coming back here to put me in my place. Your parting shot at SkyChimp shows just where you are coming from. Oh and you enjoyed it whilst it was fair play.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
Why??!! However can that be??!! How could it possibly be "fair" I mean after all..... you being of such a modest and obviously so scholarly race and all..... We lil ol Mericuns caint staind a chaince aginst duh lahks o you suh!!!

Get real........ http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif I dont play favorites. If I say I made a mistake and I apologize to you then take it for what its worth. I dont apologize unless I know I am in error. Even though I found your posts long and "highly detailed" I respected your opinion and thought it was a pretty good debate untill you started in with the condecending stuff.... and even then it was between you and SkyChimp so I stayed out.. I just had ONE question for you.. which I asked.

oh, and if you take it personally enough that you have to leave a forum, you probaly should have been here in the first place, since the world outside your room really doesnt give a **** about you sometimes

and no, im not trying to be mean, just realistic

Sorry to butt in, but Britain is not a country or race. It is a sort of grouping of countrys (Scotland, Wales, England) into a area of the world (a bit like saying France and Germany are called Europe).

Please hit me with a stick if this has been already pointed out http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif
