Dear Anno Fans.

The preliminary fan test for the "BIG FIVE PACK" update just ended this week. Again, several members of our community spent a lot of time with testing and providing feedback. Yesterday evening, testers and the team met for a final call to talk about their experiences and it was also an opportunity to ask any questions .;) Today, we want to share some first recap posts from participants.

Thanks again to all fans who helped, because the participation level was very high even after the test was extended!

Numbers, Data, Facts

8 different nationalities were represented by the participants
Around 1.200 hours were spent in this test. Incredible!
139 threads and around 400 posts were created

What is next?

Impressions from test participants

I had the honor to test the Big Five update. This was a great experince filled with things to discover and the possibility to talk with the devs. I played the test version for about 15 hours, and i want to share my impressions with you

Positive:

The Trading center is a great building that will allow you to have a bigger company, but you have to think where to place it.
The shares system is very challenging for the new companies in hard and veteran difficulties, and the bonusses it gives are more than worthy.
The preserve ornaments gives my city a true green essence.
New achivements!!!!, and this time they are challenging.

Neutral:

I found catastrophies quite annoing, and i've ignored the less impactfull once in the game.
Achiving the domination was a side part of the share market instead of something different that you have to focus on in order to have it.

Negative:

No negative aspects ^_^. There is nothing that makes me say: "It was better than it is now"

Conclusions:
The Big Five update is focussed on letting you have a bigger comapany but you will be hindered by your rivals and by the nature, then get prepared to fight.

My suggestion to fully appreciate this update is try to get the "No pressure" achivement. You will have to face evry aspect of the Big Five update to get it.

My impression of this DLC
With this latest DLC for our beloved Anno 2205 you will discover more fleshed out opponents. The Big Five have teeth now, be careful. The days of just hoarding up your money and racing to the next couple of corporation levels are by-gone now. You will have to get your hands dirty with a war for shares and market domination.

As your corporation gets a foothold in a world ruled by the Big Five, you will start your quest for dominance, you will want those shares! But be careful not to become greedy. For if you pull more than you can carry, you will be burned. Yes, you can get burned pretty hard if the Big Five come at your shares and you're out of money to outbid them. You will, I repeat, you will see your income drop. So get those infiltrators ready, perform special actions to undermine your opposition or to strengthen them. What? Strengthen them? Why?? The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Besides being a very fun mini-game in this Anno, it gives more depth to the gameplay of the corporation and opens up a lot of future opportunities for Ubisoft to keep building on.in future updates. There's also a new and very nice building in this update, but that'll be for you to discover!

Big Five DLC is the biggest free content to date and it features two of the most challenging mechanics from previous Anno titles such as Trade Market and Disasters. This update will definitely boost the gameplay with tens of hours and with the help of Veteran Pack will bring the challenge to a whole new level.
Dominating the market will not only give you the much needed increased production but will also help your future companies to develop faster by using new and improved modules. But achieving domination alone isn't that easy as you might think. You will have to buy shares from your 5 competitors and also defend your own. It looks easy but it's not. A simple mistake now will cost you dearly later. Shares can also boost your income but it can also make it even worse. Will you play dirty or prefer to come out clean?

And right when you think nothing worse can happen, a large scale disaster will hit one of your sectors harder than anything you could ever imagine. Ok it sound harsh but the truth is I never enjoyed disasters that much in any other Anno game. While some of them might let you escape with just a scratch, others will cause you a serious disturbance in your trade network, among the credit balance or productivity overall. The good thing about these disasters is that it won't damage your city that much as you might think and they look really great. I won't tell you much about disasters themselves because I don't want to spoil the fun. I was never that happy to see some of them in action. Team did really a great job with them.

Anno 2205 also learned a little more replayability bonus due to the new sector traits that will permanently give you certain benefits and sometime certain negative effects too. While it doesn't bring new maps, or other mechanics from previous titles, nor many new decorations or buildings, I still believe this is a great update and you will enjoy it as much as I did. More awesome content is on its way already that will surely enhance this game even more. I would also like to thanks the team for putting countless hours for making this game even better.

Release date

The release of "BIG FIVE PACK" is planned for June 2016.
