Capt T -

that is a spooky article...I'd have set him in the 'pit of a restored Corsair and checked to see if he could fire it up.... could ya picture that!.. a 2 yr old flipping the mags to both.. setting the fuel to full rich..setting the throttle and the flaps.. opening the cowl flaps
etc..

Right Lexx. Just like everyone living in a trailer park in the USA is descended from European royalty.

You should see season 3 LEXX it deals with a kind of re~incarnation in a ~very~ bizzare way.

I read that article a while back. It's very strange indeed. It really makes you wonder.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Wonder about what exactly?? About how ABC didn't quite present the story accuratly?? Compare the link above with this one;
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/dailycourier/news/s_189477.html

Notice how the nightmares actually started AFTER the kid went to the museum, or how account of the downing is different in the newspaper article.

Or the fact that the Natoma Bay never embarked Corsairs.

Re-incarnation?? No Sweeps Week BS!

Well, I didn't see much difference between the two articles,apart from the ABC article omitting the part about the museum visit and the 2nd one being better written(which is besides the point). Perhaps the museum visit somehow triggered "something". There is no way a 2-year old could make a story like James' by simply visiting an air museum. How could he know who Jack Larson is? Wouldn't Larson know whether or not they flew Corsairs?

The only other explanation is that the parents know more about WWII aviation than they let on,and simply told the kid what to say.

Well the only other explanation besides that is that Bowman character. Who exactly certifies someone as being able to induce folks to recall past lives?

Smells fishy

You didn't read it close enough;
1. Do you have kids - I would guess not - otherwise you would be surprised w/ what they absorb/come out with. And this particular kid got to spend time with a "past lives" conselor who has a vested interest in "developing" this
kids "memories". - Confirmation Bias
2. The Natoma Bay DID not embark Corsairs during the Iwo invasion;

http://www.hazegray.org/
http://pacific.valka.cz/

3. It is VERY siginificant that the stories of how this pilot was lost don't agree. Afte all, if one of these are in error then how much more of this tale is wrong as well.

All we have is the parent's story about all this - and they WANT to believe. That's anecdotal and proves nothing.

Maybe his parents filled him with all this info hoping to get some media attention and some $$$. After all they appear to be writing a couple of books about it. What better way to publish something than to come up with a claim like this one. I think its pretty safe to say that this is a hoax.

I see what you mean now. I'd forgotten the ABC article stating he was downed by Jap flak and not a fighter. I still don't know how Jack Larson could've forgotten he apparently did not fly Corsairs off of Natoma Bay,though. Could his memory be so bad that he can't even remember what he flew? Could they have paid veterans to collaborate this story? After reading your arguments,I agree this is likely not on the up and up.....

Not on the up and up....lol they chose Corsair, the only other Choice would have been P~51. Could they sell the story [in USA] if they claimed the kid was reincarnated IL~2 pilot? Whats scary is the torture they are putting this kid through for money and fame--two motivations that get re~incarnated every generation http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I would prefer to think that in past lives, I was worse off than I am now. That way, it would seem I am getting better, right?

That is why I am convincing myself that I was Fordfan's pimp in a past life. Anyone know the number of that Bowman character? All I need is a shady quack to 'verify' my past lives http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
