I've seen screens of it, but I haven't found an resources about it. Is it a flying bomb? Or a flying gas can?

Oh its very much a flying bomb, the war head replaces the cockpit part of a Ju88, the rest you can see in the pics. When its time to drop the bomb if you can call it that the controler A/C breaks away and buggers off home or does what ever it has to do, either way dont want to be close to the bomb when it goes off as i think it has over a ton of high explosive in it

Oh boy i cant wait to see Mistel Vulchin http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

2000lb is not much.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif The Mossie carried and dropped a 4000lb bomb.

The Mistel 1 used a Me109F and a Ju88A-4.

The Mistel 3A/S3A used a Fw190A-6 and a Ju88A-4. Differernt fuels made this combo a trainer.

The Mistel SB used a Fw90A-6 or A-8 and stretched Ju88H-4. The stretch was for fuel tanks for the Fw's 95PN fuel.

The "bomb" weighed 8380lb(~3800kg).

The tactic was to release the "bomb" a/c in a 15* dive ~1/4 mile(400m)(seems rather close???) away from the target. In tests the warhead penetrated 60ft of reinforced concrete.

Wasn't someone modelling the Tirpitz? The Mistel is about the only weapon ingame that could take it out...

Yep,I believe Fennec's Tirpitz is coming with the add-on.....

EDIT:Btw,there were also plans to use an Me-262 as part of a Mistel combination. There was at least one 262 modified to carry a Ju-88,but the project never took off.(pun intendedhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

They had a 109 and me262 mistel i wonder why we are just getting the 190 version if the bottom is modeled, i think the same realease guage was used for the 109 and me262 also.

Also oleg should put the he111 pit in one side of the he111z so we can at least fly the thing.

Well, if the Tirpitz is being modelled, then, for historical accuracy we need the plane and the bomb that sank it. Avro Lancaster, 617Sqn, and the Barnes Wallis Tallboy.

If I had all the money I'd spent on drink..I'd spend it on drink!

The reason he won't make the He-111z flyable is because it doesn't behave realistically.

Notice: when you are shooting them down, or failling horribly at escorting them, when a fuselage is shot off, or the center wing is severed, the spin axis doesn't change to the fuselage, so you will have a one winged He-111 spiraling to earth . . . but spiraling around a point that is about a wingspan away from the fuselage.

It isn't realistic, as Il-2 cannot handle sperations of this nature, therefore he makes it unflyable so as not to draw attention to it.

Good question. The 109 Mistel wouldn't be unreasonable, but the 262 Mistel introduced visual changes to the 262 fuselage,so I'm assuming Oleg doesn't want to take to time to implement these changes. In addition, the 262 Mistel never flew, but that applies to several other planes that are included in FB......
