These were taken during WWII at an airbase near Elgin in the north of Scotland. Enjoy!

nice! Thanks for sharing.

I don't know what it is exactly about the Beaufighter, but it is just so cool!

Gorgeous!! Look at those pics and imagine the sound and the smell of all those Bristol Hercules engines.

I wouldn't join any club that would have ME as a member!

Nice pics! An awesome plane! I think this is gonna be one of my favorite rides in PF.

Probably the most underrated and forgotten ground pounder and ship killer of WW2!

Would that be RAF Kinloss (from which the Nimrods still fly) or Nether Dallachy (?) now defunct, or perhaps Lossiemouth? I've see a memorial to New Zealander Beaufighter crew at Nether Dallachy so that may be it. Nice beaches there by the way http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You're spot on MajorBloodnok, Nether Dallachy it is! The blurb with the photos said that they were thought to be from the Australian Air Force, Squadron Number 467.

Here's what's left of Nether Dallachy, btw:

http://www.controltowers.co.uk/D/Dallachy.htm

Staying in the same area, I have a couple of aerial photos, taken by luftwaffe aircraft during WWII, of Lossiemouth (the town, not the airfield) and Elgin airfield (just to the south west of Elgin) I think they're on my work PC, but I'll try and post them tomorrow!
