Hi,

Sorry to make a call like that, but maybe you are "the last chance" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I have read your "recent" posts about IL2FB running ok with 56.72 drivers in 3D,

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=179108275&r=733100575#733100575

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=735103245&r=756109645#756109645

But I think I need your help:

I have reformatted, reinstalled WinXP, and FB and 56.72, and tried IL2FB 1.0 in Perfect mode.

It runs almost well, but your hints about vertex arrays and vsynch are just the other way around: I must let checked vertex arrays in IL2 setup, and vsynch ON in NVIDIA setup (Not in Il2 setup, as I can not find it there...)

The problem is, when in external view the cockpit reflections create some random graphic glitches on it. Have you find that, too?

Please, (and this is the main purpose of this post),

1. where you find vsynch control, in NVIDIA panel? I only find it in NVIDIA

2. In the compatibility menu of the NVIDIA stereo panel, what options have you checked? Any?

3. What version of FB are you playing? 1.11? AEP? 2.04?

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Hi Darkbluesky,

I recently had to re-install my vid card and I went and checked my settings and just realized everything had been set back to default. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif I'm still running the 56.72s though.

Further, FB setup was reset to just the GeForce 3/4/FX settings and not custom...yet I've been running the 3D mode fine, weird...

So some general tips and info are in order I guess -

Make sure to install the 56.72 Stereo drivers AFTER the 56.72 main driver.

Make sure you run the game in OpenGL Perfect mode.

In regards to glitches I'm not getting any in cockpit though that depends on the plane you fly as I find the quality of the cockpits vary (some hidden polys are NOT always hidden in 3D mode). The more recent cockpits that have been added to the game are generally better (favs being P-38, Bf-110, Gladiator, P-63, TB-3 for 3D). I keep the 3D on the 1st or 2nd low notch of 3D settings (adjust in game with Ctrl-F4/ ctrl-F5) while in cockpit. When in external views, I bump it up several notches to enhance the 3D effect (Ctrl-F4).

Answers to the other questions:
1) If you want to access VSynch setting, it's under Performance & Quality Settings (3rd item down in properties for the GeForce). I'm not so sure it's neccessary to fool around with these settings now.

2) I don't have anything checked in stereo compatibility at the moment, but it might be worth trying some different stuff.

3) playing AEP 2.04

BTW, here are my specs:
AMD 2400 ~2 Ghz
1 Gb Ram
MSI GeForce FX5950 256 Mb
e-Dimensional glasses
TrackIR 3 Pro

Good luck,

Rook

Hi Rook,

Thanks for reply! I appreciate it.

I have done by this order:

a. Reformatted HD,
b. reinstalled WinXP Pro without any additional patch,
c. installed 56.72 drivers
d. reboot
e. installed 56.72 stereo drivers
f. reboot
g. installed DX9c
h. reboot
i. installed FB
j. reboot
k. installed AEP+2.04 patch
l. reboot
m. checked "activated stereo with hotkey", Apply, Mediacl test OK.
n. Played FB in Perfect mode

Result: the same, trees are flat, rockets are flat, and some flickering glasses on the cockpit from external view (specially in P-47, La-7). Also some whole screen random flashes, not often, though.

SO, I can only thing in these possibilities:

1. Which DX version have you running. 8.1? 9b? 9c?

2. Any other system driver, resident program, graphic card help software, that you may think it can affect?

3. Maybe it works because the 1 Gb of RAM, or the 5950 chip, or the AMD processor... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif My rig: P4 1.5 GHz, 256 RAM (PC800), MB D850E Chipset with 4x AGP, MSI GeForce 5900XT 128 MB (8x AGP)

4. You are a lucky lucky lucky lucky man! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Any help?

Thanks a lot, and excuse me for the inquiry.

I dont really understand what you mean by tree's but all tree's are flat. You do get 3d trees but you can go through them... if your on about the ones you crash into then they are meant to be flat.

Am I wrong?

Sorry, I mean that they are seen when 3D goggles activated like if they were in the plane closer to the eyes, like if they were painted on a transparece hung just in front the eyes: they are not rendered at the deep they shall.

I hope I have explained better, now.

The trees ruled by the "Forest=" setting lining the rivers and on the landscape you can fly through. But if the same tree is placed in a city - you can't http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - you'll go boom! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Question: Did you back-up your files?
Answer: I didn't know they had a reverse...

Hmmm.... I'm running DirectX 9.0b on Win XP Pro SP1...

It sounds like you're doing everything right - regarding tress and stuff, I set Forest=2 in the conf.ini and everything else in Hardware setup in game running at max. Because of that setting though, I alternate between 800x600 and 1024x768 res plus I have anti-aliasing off.

Keep plugging away with the settings, when it works right, you'll know it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Maybe like you said, it's something coming down to the processor / vid-card combo. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Good luck though, maybe someone who has had these troubles with the e-Dimensionals can weigh in here.

Thanks!

I have made that I think is the last test:

I've reinstalled WinXP, installed SP1, 56.72 drivers and 56.72 stereo, DX9.0b, FB and AEP+2.04. No success so, I have a question which could be the last (likely). In which order has you installed WinXP, SP1, 56.72? If you remember...

Tx

hmmm, good point - since I just recently re-installed Windows the order now that I think about it would've been WinXp, the 56.72s, then SP1...

Hi,

Sorry, I think it is not so important but...I'd prefer to do it only one more time...http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

DX9.0b after SP1 and before FB+AEP+2.04, or after FB+AEP+2.04...?

Tx

Actually DX9.0b in my case would've been before both but I don't think it should make a difference.

BTW, can you maybe post some anaglyph images (Red/Blue Stereo glasses) of the problems you're having so I can see first hand? I'm not sure I entriely understand what you say when you say certain objects are flat. Does it look anything like those other images I posted in
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=735103245&r=756109645#756109645 ?

Tx! Yes I could post If I know how. I mean that I think I should upload the images to a server. I have a free host web space (and ftp I think...) but when I post them I only get a link to thse images, they do not appear inside the post, so anybody is able to see them without following any link...Do you know how can I do it? Tx

When you get a link to the image, copy n paste that link into a new browser window and see if the picture is displayed once you hit enter. If it is, then you can just post the links and everyone will be able to see them.

Sorry for the delay, I have to find some site to upload the photos. (I've found www.shutterboard.com (http://www.shutterboard.com)). Maybe you need to increase the brightness and contrast of your monitor...

For the "flat" rockets and droptank:

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0004.jpg

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0005.jpg

The flickering cockpit glasses (it 's difficult to see because is mainly noticeable when in movement, but I have shot two consecutive screens where you can see different triangles on it)

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0002.jpg

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0003.jpg

The floating trees (maybe you shall increase brightness and contrast to see it clearer):

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0001.jpg

http://shutterboard.com/upload/free/grab0006.jpg

The bad news: I have reinstalled WinXP Pro, 56.72 drivers, Dx9.0b, SP1 in your same order, but no success... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Do you see the same glitches as me?

Tx!

Bump!

Hey again,

Hmmm.... I see what you mean on those trees... I get that to some effect but nowhere as bad. I think you may have your depth set too high - what does it look like when you are in cockpit? Try tapping Ctrl-F5 till the effect disappears and then tap Ctrl-F4 in increments to find a suitable balance.

On the triangles appearing like that in glass, it has to do with hidden surface removal - I pretty much do get that, but I think it's a combination of this current driver set (56.72) and the game models themselves as I notice it occurs less or more on different aircraft.

I'm not sure on the drop tank thing, I'll have to re-examine it.

Hi,

I've tried change convergence (Ctl+F5,F6); I set up for nice viewing in cockipt, but trees are still floating...(less of course).

Likely, I'll do my last reformat to set 45.23 drivers, although then it do not runs ok in Perfect mode, nevertheless my rig is no able to run smoothly in Perfect mode with many planes at same time...

Have you checked if you see rockets and droptanks as me?
