View Full Version : Game Crashes randomly in game

Well to say "randomly" is to ignore the fact it happens EVERY time I try to play it. Put simply I play the game and make a little progress (first lot of crafting...) and then it just crashes to desktop. Progress I can make varies from very little to just past a checkpoint that doesn't actually work as a checkpoint (still goes back to the start of the level).

Error details are as follows:

This looks to be a common issue with r9 series cards. I have a 380 and have the same problem. Only on mine (and many others) it forces me to hard restart instead of just a CTD. Hopefully they can push out a fix soon.

Hey Garndell and Sparty137, sorry that you're encountering this issue. I'd suggest rolling back your graphics drivers to the previous version and see if that resolves the issue.

Please update this thread if you're still unable to play the game after rolling back your drivers.

Already tried 16.1.1, 16.2 & 16.2.1 (current), should I go back further than that?

Don't even bother if you have a R9 card and see my reply to this thread :

If the devs or someone actually gives a hell, the game needs a patch for this series of cards. Please don't tell people with this particular series of cards to update their drivers or something because it's not a problem on the user's end.

For your information, the crash occurs mainly around the snowy region so it may have something to do with the effects (fog maybe ?) around those areas (that doesn't mean it never happens on other areas though). I can confirm this because it also crashed a lot during that hallucination quest where you go on a rampage with the spiked club (yes, snowy place).

This should be added to known issues imo.
