Hi folks, funny forum you've got here.

I was wondering what the trick is to make the padlock triangles invisible.

Some of the servers I go into are set up this way, but I cant figure out how they do it. I don't see anything in the conf.ini file that seems to relate to it.

Thanks.

It's a setting in the difficulty menu. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Actaully I believe it's an icon setting. For offline, the simplest way is to make sure you have the "Toggle Icons" keyboard control assigned, then once you're in a mission press it. You may need to press it as many as three times to make the triangle disappear as it cycles through four icon settings.

I was going to ask the opposite, I went on a server once and it had green triangles on the target, but I have not seen it since that one time. It rocked at the time but now I am used to going for it using my eyes.

Hey Monster, I've seen you in mine. It's a server setting, don't know if it works in offline play. This is the way mine's set in the server cmd file:

mp_dotrange FOE COLOR 0.01 DOT 0.01 RANGE 1.0 TYPE 0.01 NAME 0.01
mp_dotrange FRIEND COLOR 0.01 DOT 0.01 RANGE 1.0 TYPE 0.01 NAME 0.01

If you're hosting you can also type that in the console.

Tully: Great, that worked just right. I feel dumb for not having tried it. The game looks a lot better now. Thanks.

Wingnut: I know your server and always have fun there. Thanks for the advice, I'll remember that if I'm hosting.

Others: You boys have way too much time on your hands. As far as .AHEM.FULL.REAL.AHEM. goes, did real pilots have to take their hands off the controls and manually direct their faces toward the enemy aircraft? Padlock, despite some small exploits it offers, doesnt compromise my sense of realism in the game. All things considered, I think it adds to the realism - especially without the triangles (thanks again Tully, Wingnut). Ahem.

Oh, by the way, your people skills need some work. Ahe - he - hem.
