Well I just went online for the first time and I can now see why this game is so addictive. I have only been playing for 3 days so I am quite a novice but it was probably the most fun I have ever had online.

It had most realism options turned on so at first it was a struggle just to get off the ground. After exploding 3 BF-109ks on takeoff I decided to switch to an LA7 like some people on these forums suggested and VOILA! I was airborne!

After flying around, circling my airbase and trying to get used to the realism after only playing on easy settings I decided it was time to look for a fight. I followed some of my wingmen and sure enough some enemy planes appeared. Seeing as I have no experience with Prop pitch, mixture or any advanced features my wingmen managed to get far ahead of me and engage the two enemy planes.

I hung back and from a distance I tracked one of the enemy planes, from memory it was a P-51. I slowly got closer and closer, lining him up in my gunsighsts, feeling slightly nervous trying to determine when to pull the trigger, I closed to under .50 and gave my primary trigger a squeeze.

NOTHING HAPPENED. I tried again, STILL NOTHING! I started to panic as I was gaining on him quite rapidly, I tried to slow down and pull up but it was no good, I overshot him and put myself directly in his gunsights. The last thing that went through my mind as I went down in flames was "The secondary trigger, you should have pulled the secondary trigger"

Nice story. Maybe we should fly together since I have trouble in real mode also. Thing is, I'm in school right now and it's not easy so I spend most of my days at school. Have march break next week, maybe I can swing by some days.

That would be cool mate. I really suck at this game but I have fun anyway. The server I have been playing on is:S77th-OC-192 and their website is www.maddog-simulations.com (http://www.maddog-simulations.com)

Join the server and look for embryo66, i'll probably be on fire.

Love it!

Welcome to the game.
It's even fun when you constantly get shot down isn't it?

You couldn't be more right. I played online for about 3 hours tonight and didn't bring down a single plane (though I did help bring down a HE-111 that was bombing our airfield) and I still had the most fun I have ever had online.

I am still trying to get my head around Prop. Pitch and fuel mixtures etc.

I have a question maybe you could help me with though, while playing tonight I got pretty shot up and made a succesful crash landing but when I selected refly it still said "embryo66 has been killed by xxxxx"

Is there anyway to crash land without it being counted as a kill for your opponent?

I played online yesterday for my first time and for the most part I got my wings saed off and handed to me. I did better than I though I would have, bringing down 3 or 4 of em over about an hour. After class today, 11-11:50, Ill probably be playing as much as possible. Maybe we can get in a game together for a Noob battle, haha.

I usually don't play online becuase everybody is better than I am so I'm playing the campaigns until i feel that i'm fit to fight with the Pros. But when I did first start playing multi, I got my first kill the same day by ramming a guy head on. haha that was pretty fun.

If you map your primary and secondary weapon to the same trigger button you will find it easier to shoot down planes... you will run out of ammo quicker though.

Have fun!
