Can we have parachuters splat when I hit them with my prop? That would be cool. Also a little windshield wiper to wipe off the blood from the windshield.

This ain't SOF2.

This does't need SOF2 effects

Its not even that realistic.

%90+ of pilot accounts from WW2 recall that they where unable to determine if their opponenent was dead untill it meet with mother earth. Most of those that got close enough to see into the cockpit generally note it was filled with smoke.

Thank you, HotCarl. This thread needed a reality check.

I strongly suspect all the children who want more gore in this game never have seen the real thing (except maybe rubbernecking at an auto accident on the freeway), or tried CPR on a badly injured person without result or bagged a body. Or thrown away a uniform because it was soaked with somebody else's blood.

I have. Many times. I don't need to see it when I'm doing something for entertainment. Probably the same reason I could never play a Vietnam sim. I know what it really looked (and smelled) like.

The sim is just fine the way it is.

BUMP! ttt, had to wash the blood out of my Huey more than once and once was enough! Had to open all the inspection panels and dig the stuff out. Smelled enough blood that I could tell in a movie theater a woman on her . http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yeah, I can see it now. People have already complained about the way certain plains splash oil on the windscreen and they cant see.

I f they ever added blood it would be the same thing!

In this game you can not see blood nor oil. From external view. About that smell thing... oil smells pretty bad too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/93.gif

Ya, adding smells would be a great idea.

I guess you could have a bucket of oil next to you while you fly. Once your engine is hit, you can throw a match into the buckut, thus, creating lots of oily smoke.

It would be funny trying to explain this to the fire marshal though.

Well dont think a man hit by a few 20 or 30mm shells would have much gore to leave behind now would he? Disturbing to see either way I'm sure. Though wouldnt mind having the 'slumped forward' effect back for dead crew. Just so at those times I can see it, I know I dont have to waste more ammo on the plane.

Ok guy , i am not a kid ,i am a grown adult and if you are having flash backs from this...play with lincoln logs...i am also a rescue diver and have medical training and have performed cpr ....do not play this down...if you dont want the gore settings..DONT ENABLE THEM , i do , as well as other want the option...as for the blood , yeah it has a certain smell , just like a burning body...but i dont slam you for wanting to live in your world of "i cant take the blood " ....i paid money for this game as well as every other one in this line and will continue to do so...the point i am making is , i as well as alot of others want this in this G A M E......if you cant take it...dont play or dont enable them , but do not sit in judgement and say that they shouldnt be in here...i mean have you forgotten that this IS A WAR SIM ???

FWIW, the last time this came up, I'm pretty sure it was explained that Gore and Blood is limited to keep the "Teen" ESRB rating for the game.

If they show too much detailed, life-like gore and violence, they could get bumped to a "Mature" rating. I believe they wished to avoid that.

Guncam,

You started this thread.

Did you not expect contrary opinions?

Nowhere did I even suggest people who believe as you do should not be here. Nor would I ever do that.

I simply disagree with you on this issue.

I do agree in one aspect: In addition to being a sim, this is a game. We're flying cartoon airplanes with cartoon people. I don't find it any less immersive because the gore is left out.

People obviously found the photograph of a dead motorcycle rider posted in this thread so objectionable that it was removed. I think that makes my point.

Enough.

I don't think a real picture of a horrific accident that was posted can be used as an example of what should not be in IL2FB. I don't connect that at all. I think if a game is hell bent on being fairly realistic it is obvious that some mature players want to have the ability to turn blood on. I have always thought that many, many parameters in games should be adjustable to the user...like agression of the A.I., how much they pursue, stay in formation or break off and attack...etc. Just my thoughts.

Thant's why I find it very encouraging that a game like "Brothers in Arms" has been OK'd by a couple of Veterens groups because it will "supposedly" show the horror of war...AND THAT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD SHOW KIDS!. Granpa and his buddies didn't fade away in a bloodless arcade setting. It makes sense to me but that's because it's...my own opinion.Everyone has a different take on it, as is always the way.

I don't wanna argue on this one, but I just want to express my opinion on this matter. And someone calls me 'childish' for that. Good beginning to start arguing...I would like to have gore settings enabled. And I am not a child. You're wrong on this one tttiger. Do not insult other people just because they have other opinions.

On your opinion IL2-chuter, GUNCAM, Indianer., myself and bunch of other guys are 'kids'... man just take a look to what you wrote on your topic.

well - this is a disturbing idea. GTA in the sky.. maybe there could be WAAF ferry pilots or maybe some nurses to rape? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

Flying body parts too! And extra points for exploding an enemy plane which then triggers a slo-mo view of the occupants' body pieces flying apart. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif no?.. you just want a little gore?... where to draw the line though?.. I know - make it as absolutely horrific to start with and then pare it down based on the volume of complaints and lawsuits.

At least it would be more realistic. Because reality in this environment was by ALL accounts HORRIFIC! Just light yourself on fire and jump off a skyscraper if you want all that. I'll do the motion capture and submit it for incorporation into the game.mmkay?

I do remember reading of at least two pilots relating the horror of bodies hittng their props. One was a Hurri jock. Anyway, the splat when you hit the ground sans chute is enough for me. Or is that gone? I've been getting out better, lately.

The red mist that descends to indicate player injury puts paid to many a plump screenshot. No problems there though - luck of the draw.

Yet even after over a year of noobying around the skies, I still get a real sense of guilty disquiet when I see apparently unscathed pixelated opponents occupying their stations as the ac disintegrates around them.

Additional gore would probably reduce me to tears, poor, spiritless creature that I am.

Ok guys ,
1st i want to aplogize to anyone that this has offended. I just see things such as this the way they really are...a game...this is a war game...and in war there are alot of horrific things that happen.
2nd i want to say to all the "kids"...it is a harsh world. but reality as it is ..it is , life and death and that is that...i dont belive in candy coating anything or trying to make something "go away" by not addressing it and or sweeping it under the rug so to speak.
3rd...How about a patch that we adults that want to see the red stuff , not the bits and peices or overtly grotesqe things , but a simple slumped pilot or gunner and the red stuff....i dont think that is too much to ask...
4th..as for opinions..i welcome those...but i dont tolerate those that decide for me or talk down to me as i don't do that to others...to me those that do are only short of wearing "jack boots" .
Humbly yours,Guncam
