How does the faction system work? any one know?

Is it possible to change faction after already selecting one?

For example, if I choose the knights at the beginning but then later want to try the samurai or vikings, can I simply change or am I stuck with my original decision?

thanks for your replies

When you start a match you chose your character. However in the Alpha you had to select if you want your character female or male and if you want to change you have to do the progression again with that character.

For the full game, we aren't really sure.

How I think it will (or should) work is that you pick a faction before matchmaking, be that through a simple intermediary menu or through a separate save slot similar to Planetside, pick a mode, and then pick your class once you're in a match. I say that because we also aren't sure how the single-player will be---whether each faction will have their own separate story or whether you'll play as different factions and classes as the story unfolds, similar to how you periodically switch characters during the story mode in the most recent Mortal Kombat games (as suggested here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1246418-What-do-you-think-the-single-player-part-of-the-game-will-be-like?p=11158764&viewfull=1#post11158764))---so, if it's the former, then a save-slot-per-faction would make sense, while the latter would lend it more toward selecting a faction before matchmaking.

From what I understand, you could choose whatever faction you wanted in the Alpha---so you could have Samurai and Knights on the same team---but that was probably for the convenience of the testers and I don't think that will (or should) be the case in the final game, for the reasons I went into here (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1351587-Playing-as-different-factions-in-a-team).

Hmm. That's interesting. Didn't know about that, not sure how I feel about it, either.

The progression seems to only be cosmetic so meh why not.
