Not nice to fly huh! Makes you wonder about the FM in FB.

I'd never join a club that would have ME as a member!!.

Yes, it would make me wonder as well, if it wasn't because other pilots accounts don't mention the same strange behaviour, and if it wasn't for the repeated statement in the article that the prop'n'pitch in this particular plane was weird.

and for the fact that it's rebuilt with a wrong prop and a way too powerful Spitfire Merlin... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hurris had the same Merlin as the Spitfire

well the Mk1s did

1030 Hp

we have to suffer with 930 Hp in FB for all models

the slow speed it has now is way more correct than in FB v1.0 but when you look at its Stall charistics & the stlling of other fighters in FB ..... well its such a Bad Joke

It's better this way:

1. wonder...

2. check facts

3. compare facts with game

4. whine if discrepancy.

Try that instead of jumping directly to 4). The Merlin XX engine in the game is the same as the real life specs. It came in different versions, and there's a huge difference in the power output result depending on how you measure.

I don't about you,but the attitude by the airshow people leave alot to be desired, this pilot had only flown the aircraft a few times when asked to do a display, this is taken from page 2 of the link above,

"Then I hoped we'd go somewhere and orbit, waiting to be called in to do the show. That would give me a little time to get used to formation flight in this unique bird.

But the airboss wasn't interested in what I might want, for right after I broke ground I heard him call, "Fighters, you're cleared in for your first pass." Two things became obvious immediately. The Hurry is a lot slower than the Spitfire, both in climb and speed! I cut savagely inside to catch up, and barely made it as Steve Barber in the Spit turned base for the first pass. The Hellcat caught me about the same time, so we got into a reasonable three-ship for the pass. The poor guy in the Sea Fury never had a chance.

The second thing I discovered was that the Hurry is probably the most miserable formation airplane I've ever flown."

That seems like a recipe for disaster to me

Hawker mark XII Hurricane ?

I would go and get my british ww2 aircraft book to see if it mentions mark XII if i could be bothered to get out of my reclining chair /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif (my legs are tucked tightly under my desk /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif )

Interesting read. It's clear that the author's comments about flight characteristics are directed at this particular aircraft and he has reservations about it's balance and setup as compared to the original, so perhaps we might reserve our judgement when applying his comments to the FM in game /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
