Personally i prefer a good Shiraz, 1998 for preference! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

This is just for laughs guys.

How about we make a history of the greatest whines ever on the board, call it a history project of sorts. Everything from the Uber I-16, the Feet of Clay P-47, muzzle flashes, .50 dispersion ect ect.

Start as far back as you wish, maybe we could turn it into a EAW style bible of how the game has developed and how the community has moved from on percieved issue to another.

Please keep it friendly though, not meant to be serious. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Any real wine tips would be good as well!

I guess that Trim on a Slider would have to be given pride of place http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Threads that complain that getting shot causes damage to their plane! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

This is especially true when it comes to our almost in a coma AI gunners. Aircraft be delicate things. Try not to get shot! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Ahem . . .

Remember the 109K when we first got it? The rudder was locked in place. Oleg posted that we got the wrong version of the patch that gave us the K, and fixed it within a week or so. I couldn't count all the posts that started: "The K is porked! I'm mad, and I'll never buy another UBI game!". To make matters worse, there were TRUE fanboys (not just fans accused of being fanboys) saying "That's the way the K model was!" Oddly enough, some people actually believed it! It was the most fun I'd had in years!

My two nominees:

Raaid: for appearing at random intervals with posts that proclaim he'll quit playing IL-2 and leave the forum forever because it's all a Russian conspiracy.

Zugfuhrer: for equally random posts about his latest Il-2 online blunder in a Luftwaffe figther, that to him is solid proof that it's all ... a Russian conspiracy.

Oh, the P.11 whine
The original F-2 whine
The hurri-C whine
I think my favorite was the top-secret 103% exploit however.
However trim on a slider does hold a special place.

The all time greatest has to be trim on a slider and the 190 view thing.... actually I think if I had to pick an all time whine it would be the 190 thing. Thatthread went on for what.... @800 pages..and it still pops up. Of course we cant forget the Oleg has a Russian bias threads.

my favourite is the .303s are porked and the (insert plane here) is invulnerable to them. 50s was fun but i think now that the pony is here it may be time to lay down a bottle or two of 1944 vintage Mustang. Might of turned to vinegar by now thought.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I think the lamest whining has got to be about using BnZ. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif What is fair when it comes to aircombat?
Trust me, if I could throw an empty Erdinger bottle out of my cockpit and knock the enemy out of the sky I would sit and empty another bottle of Erdinger, but it wouldn't be out of guilt. Then I'd have more ammo http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Bf109F-G high speed roll rates (600 posts IIRC - a hall of fame candidate)

Cockpit visibility: Erla Haube = P51D bubble canopy.

Sniper tanks firing in AA role.

Insane AAA accuracy.

Insane bomber gunners.

Although I've heard it mention many times(trim on slider)I've never read the thread. I'm assuming someone is complaining that players are assigning there slider to trim. If so then I'll put that whine in the Bnz basket as the two worst cases.

BTW, my trim IS on the slider of my 3D gold, and I've just decided to reassign the throttle on my X45 to be the trim. Mua ha ha ha! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif

Does that hurt a little? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

On a (marginally) more serious note, the palm of the biggest whine ever must go to the Fw.190 cockpit view thread.

Others were good but the 190 was just going on forever.

Oh, and the Delta Wood. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The "190 View" thread is probably tops but can anyone count on one hand the number of RBJ posts that didn't include a "trim on a slider" mention? For all his whining about trim he did (ocassionally) post some useful information or at least got us talking about something other than trim.

In a dark and secret place in the back of my mind I miss him. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif
