I just wanted to thank whoever did the cockpit for the P-38 in this game. I've got ACE installed and am waiting for my CH joystick and pedals to arrive. I know this sounds silly, but I sometimes ease the withdrawal symptoms by sitting on the pad in a P-38 looking at the cockpit! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

The only question I have regarding the P-38 cockpit is....will the fact that it's cockpit heater was inadequate & led to the cockpit fogging up be rendered in the sim at some point?

I think that was fixed and was a problem only in earlier models.

Yeah, that heater issue is even more important to the cry and fly crowd because they're dealing with higher humidity (but not humility) in their cockpit! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif

So hard to tell tone of voice & facial expressions w/the written word. I'll just let it slide for now.

Thank you for flying IL2FB.

Well, to tell you the truth, it's a little of both. Try to remember that yes, this may be true about the heater, but for every picky thing we want modeled exactly so, our microprocessor has one more thing to deal with and it's already overtaxed now. All I was trying to do here is compliment whoever did the P-38 cockpit as it relates to how it looks just sitting there on the pad; you know, as it relates to a skins type issue and here you come with this whine for more eye candy. At first I thought, "Ok, his comment does have something to do with the cockpit" so I held me tounge and let it slide for a minute. Then I smoked on it for a moment and decided I'm sick of small whines from small people (man, that was unfair because I don't know you)who want to crap up this game to a point where it will take a liquid cooled mainframe computer to run it well. I started to reply and thought that you still had a point and it still was in relation to the cockpit in question, so in the end, you got a mixed response. I'm not trying to offend you and would rather have you as a friend (and with the comment you made, quite frankly a knowledgeable friend at that!) but at the same time, I wanted to pull some ballance back into the thread, so I guess I didn't do it right and for that Sir, you have my most humble apology!

Since nobody mentioned it yet. You can thank Gibbage for the P-38. All of it.

Actually most of the pit was done by Jeronimo, but Gib optimized and tweaked it quite a bit too. Think he also textured it.

Jeronimo eh? Well i wish he'd done as good a job with the spit cockpit as with the p38..

Didn't know that. I thought Gib did the whole thing.

the P38 cockpit, and Bf110 cockpit are all very good. But the J8 (gladiator) Cockpit is insane.
