In no cockpit setting, can you limit or remove the arrows that show where friendlies or foes are?

You will have to turn of icons for that to work.

You can also limit how close the icons and the arrows appear. I 've seen some servers that the icons and arrows only appear within .50 km. I'm sure some online mission builders can help. To completely remove the arrows, the icons must be off, IIRC.

Thanks, if anyone does know how to adjust them please post. I will try to find the HL server that had them this way & post back if I get an answer.

Try "Iconscript". I'm sure it still works - use it all the time for .5km icons.

I should start my own IL2 Religious Ministries and have a show on Sunday mornings where I inspire people not to give into the temptation of flying anything less than full real...

Or you could just have a LAN party, which is kind of the same thing, only with beer.

It's possible because they do it on UK-Dedicated: you only see arrows and icons for friendlies, enemy arrows appear only if the enemy plane is VERY close, but by then he is probably already shooting at your 6.

Go to the forum of www.battle-fields.com (http://www.battle-fields.com) and ask what the settings are to get this in a server.

The console command is mp_dotrange:

mp_dotrange [FRIENDLY|FOE] [DEFAULT] [COLOR <km>] [DOT <km>] [RANGE <km>] [TYPE <km>] [ID <km>] [NAME <km>]

Use Shift-Tab to switch to console...
and enter the command with parameter(s)
note: these commands are case-sensitive.

Settings of 0km will effectively cancel display.
I think the COLOR parameter effects the arrows too - not sure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
EDIT: checked it - arrows are linked to the DOT range, so
>mp_dotrange FOE DOT 10
would set the arrows to 10 km for the enemy side.
>mpdot_range FOE DOT 0.3
would set it visible if within 300m http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Tip : The Up arrow will work in console http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - so do the edit keys http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Tip2 : Console has (limited) help - try "?" as command to get a list, "? <command>" to get that command's list of arguments and syntax http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Question: Did you back-up your files?
Answer: I didn't know they had a reverse...
