I absolutely love the Dora. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I decided to do a QMB in the Fw190D9 1945 version. I climbed from 1000 metres up to 6000 metres, climbing gently and smoothly. Once I reached 6000 metres I pushed the throttle to maximum power. The speed indicator told me I was flying at around 400km/h, but when I looked it was nearer to 600km/h. I was impressed by the amazing sound of the Dora's engine. I then tried out the MW50 boost. The sound was like a massive sports car engine going from a standstill to its top speed in 5 seconds, on top of the Doras already impressive sound. After reaching well over 600km/h (I'm sure I could have managed a better speed, but just wanted to try out the Dora) I returned to base, satisfied with one of the best aircraft in IL2FB! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I've gone back to the 109 K-4 after trying out the Dora for dogfighting scenarios, since I can't seem to hit anything with those double 20-mm cannon. With convergence of both MG and cannon set to 200 meters I have a hard time scoring hits on deflection shots and it's hard to tell when my aim has been effective. With the K-4 there's never any doubt that your aim has been good and no worrying about convergence! But I'd love to fly the Dora more and practice some, if only to admire her in external views...what a beauty!

Deflection shooting is hard on all fw-190, because of the poor gunsight view blocking the view.. once you get used to it, you sometimes score hits with a hunch..

Nevertheless I consider FW-190 now much superior to the 109..
