I hope this helps. This link will take you to www.il2skins.com (http://www.il2skins.com) and an FAQ list which contains many links to skin tutorials:

Feed a pilot till he's grown. Then take out his skin. He won't want you to, so put him to sleep first.

After that, you can customize it. What do you want? A pair of shoes? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Download all the pilot skins made by Elephant! Those are only ones that I use. Lots of detail in a tiny template.

The pilot skins reside in your PaintSchemes/Pilots folder. Open any of them with your favorite paint program. Do any editing you want and save it as a different name. IE: Myskin.bmp Ensure you save it back to the PaintSchemes/Pilot folder. The files are 256x256 at 256 colors. The finished file should be 66kb in size. You can then select your new skin from within the game. Hope this helps.
