Will this important bomber of WW2 be included in the March paid "add-on" or any upcoming package? It as much important as the B-17 :

"The H-P Halifax was a better a/c."

Hmmm...I think it was the best 'silent' partner the Lanc ever had! She just got on and did the job she was designed to do and did not cater to the publicity that the Lanc did...

I would be a very happy sim head if the Lancaster showed up on the Aces CD even if only A.I.!!!

I have seen the Hamiton Lanc flying a few years ago. It just floated and floated coming into land at local small airport. He had a hard time getting it down. On fly pasts, http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Would put it up there with the 30' alt flypast of a Spit IX with throttle full open even further back.

Don't use the cockpit for any references though, no second yoke in a Lanc.

I eat the red ones last.

I think law requires it to have two yokes now.

Yup: these would be fun. And of course, if suitable variants were modelled, you could go on bouncing bomb dam busting missions (or skip it down a runway at someone.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif), or drop Tallboys and Grand Slams: the Grand Slam remains the largest non-nuclear bomb ever dropped operationally (bigger than MOAB, and 50 years earlier!) Check out the link here:

http://www.bismarck-class.dk/tirpitz/miscellaneous/tallboy/tallboy.html
maybe Tirpitz has been added with this in mind? (now there's a fun rumour to start...)

I'm friends (or an aquantance) of the Ed W the modeler of the lanc. I'll speak to him on MSN tonight and get a sitrep for you all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now you got me going! Yes, the Tirpitz will be available and it could be a hint that the Lanc may be available! I really hope so since that is why I need it, I am making a short IL2 film showing this specific scene and no other bomber in the current IL2:FB fleet fits the characteristics of the Lanc. I hope that we get some insight from the modeler. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My grandpa was a navigator on the Lancaster. He did his 50 missions over Nazi Germany. 60,000 Bomber Command crew died so he was lucky to survive. He was also based in Palestine and in India and Ceylon (as it was then).

He started off in Stirlings, then on to Halifaxs and then finished the war in Lancasters. I know all the crews loved the Halifax. But maybe that was because the Stirling wasn't so hot and the jump from Stirling to Halifax was a bigger leap forward than Halifax to Lancaster.
