I was just wondering, were people ever caught in storms on the way home from missions??
If this is true, would there be any chance of adding it??

Also bobbing of the aircraft carrier would be nice, especially in poor weather. (when lined up before takeoff, seeing the horizon going up and down would make you see sick)

Asking too much from this generation of sim I'm afraid.

It would be nice to be able to create weather situations in co-op missions. Say, have a squal line somewhere specific that you have to go around or beat back to base.

more turbulance, winds aloft and heavy seas would be great. may need to wait for th next gen video cards for the heavy seas. I want officer clubs with native dancing girls too!

Asking too much from current hardware?? Really?

I don't think so at all, as a matter of fact I would expect some sort of pitching deck and foul weather in PF. There is already turbulance and foul weather in Aces with little to no performance hit all that is needed is to add the sea state physics to the ships and graphics for the water.
This was a Naval War people so the ocean environment as well as the ships are a very important part of this sim.IMO

I'm almost certain, that Luthier in an earlier post did mention, that rolling and pitching ships would not be an implemented feature, but I cannot see, why more turbulent weather couldn't be added (to a bigger extent than is currently present in FB)...

That is from the new Silent Hunter III due out this fall. Looking forward to seeing more of it from E3.
It looks amazing so far from the demo movie and screens.

Severe weather situations would not have to be available as all air ops were canceled during such conditions. WWII aircraft weren't exactly all weather planes either.

Also, it didn't make any sense to send out scout planes and sub hunters when visibilty was low.

Actually, given the long distances and tropical lattitudes, severe weather was a major factor. Many aircraft and crew were lost.

I seem to recall a particular bombing mission to Rabaul. The mission headed out in fine enough weather, but by the return flight tehy were caught in very serious weather.

If the maps are large, it would be nice to have localized severe weather, even if it isn't changing during the gameplay (the storm areas might be preset and non-moving to fly around or through)

In FS2004, it's quite nice to fly in/out of bad weather during a longer trip. I remember flying down the coast from Alaska in a DC-3, I had downloaded real world weather updates (non-streaming, just static). I began my trip in some pretty strong gusts, 1 mile visibility and light/patchy precipitation. I climbed above the storms for my cruise, but still suffered from turbulence. I was so happy that by the time I landed 300 miles later, that the storms had burned off, visibility was several miles, and I had only mild crosswinds on my final approach.

I realize such things aren't part of the FB code, but if bad weather is implememted, it would be fun if they were in localized programmed areas at least.

changing weather would be nice, but even in FS products, they made it possible only since FS2004

Of course it would be nice to have nice waves and everything. But I think the guys working on ShIII focused on the water model because the submarine is, well, in the water. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif To me it is more important in PF to have nice clouds and perfectly modeled planes, before having swaying wave with foam and everything.
Btw the planes in SHIII do not seem to be modeled that good.
Each sim has its speciality, and having a full-scale quality sim (air, land, sea) is not likely to happen soon. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Or am I wrong?
