View Full Version : Assassin's Creed 1 Physical to Digital?

So earlier today I bought a physical copy of it at my local game store but when I opened it at home i realized it didn't come with a key to activate it on UPlay, and the computer i have doesn't have an Optical Drive. Is there anyway I could "Upgrade" to a Digital version?

Please contact Ubisoft Support (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/index) and if you contact them via email then please also include a copy of your receipt for the game, that will help expedite the process.

This is ubisoft, not EA support, so instead of getting his hopes high on false promises.

you're better off convincing gabe to make half life 3 than ubisoft supporting you in ANYWAY.

frankly i can make a thread about 30 forum support tickets where they just don't care about your problem.

all coming from a long time fan who supported ubisoft who has had enough of it.

@UbiSmarmy - it's not like i hate you, you're just doing your job, but ubisoft has left a bad impression on me, thanks for trying, but yeah, there's no way they are gonna give me digital code for a game i own on DVD. and yes, i no longer have a DVD driver, and i can't play the game anymore and ubisoft won't give me access to digital version.


PS - Yes i DID attach my receipt of the game in the attachments. but they don't care. you just gonna have to buy the game AGAIN.

You are exaggarating. Ubi support is very slow but it does work.
Once I got Heroes 5 Gold from Amazon and for some reason it didnt come with multiplayer cdkeys in box. Ubi support sent them to me after proof of purchase.

Not really. I made about 20 various tickets. You need at lot of patience/time and be really annoying for them to do anything but its certainly possible to get what you want.

I did once brought Assassin's Creed game , from the store , Gamestop to be exact !
Come back home , opened the game box , and there was no CD in it !
I got back to store but they denied to accept it return and told me to contact Ubisoft , I did that and after few tickets I got my new game delivered .
As Anykeyer say , Ubisoft works but it take while for them to respond and do the job .

that was not the point of this thread, if i had a empty box i would contact the seller and get another box, if no key inside the box, i'd contact the seller to get one

the point of this thread is the people who bought the dvd version and found it its not gonna add the game on uplay even though the game is on uplay, and when you contact ubi support to ask them if its possible to get a digital code and provide proof of purchase, they wont help you in anyway, they will just reject it saying "wa can't help you, buy the game again on uplay"

Ofc, 1st tier support never gives freebies, and they usually cant resolve anything on Ubi's end bc they dont have enough access level. Its like automated reply but a bit more intelligent.
You have to make your ticket escalated to have anything done.

before you go on about being patent or asking them to escalate the issue,

The below ticket was start on 2013 and was finally resolved in 2015,

it took them 3 years to solve my problem, my ticket was jumped around and escalated to 3 teams before they said "sorry we can't" , i finally had to contact someone on facebook and ask them the same quarry and got the problem solved

before you come here and accuse me of not being patient or didnt go through proper channels, all this tool 3 years.

you can sugar coat all you want, at the end of the day, the support staff over there is 7/10 times clueless and won't help you in anyway.
