Hello!

As we all know, WWI simulators are becoming more and more popular (Prolly because it becomes to boring with WWII flight sims all the time)

There are many bad simulators related to WWI, so I browsed through the iternet to see if there were any new WWI flight simulator work-in progress and found this: http://www.wingsofhonour.com

This site is the official site for a WWI aviation game who's a work-in-progress, but also contains links for other WWI simulators which is alredy released or atleast soon going to be released...

So click on the wings of honour banner and you'll enter that site.

Then look at the left side of the page to see links for different (WWI) flight simulators...

Can't wait til Oleg releases that one, he has created the best combat flight simulator so far so... this WWI simulator will probably become the best WWI sim...

Cheers, Metallicaner

No news or posts in the forum since May. Is the project dead? I hope not.
Cheers!

Ladies & gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. Thankyou for choosing to fly Mandarin Airlines. Those passengers sitting on the left-hand side of the aeroplane please make yourselves comfortable. Those sitting on the right... please look to your left!

I have to admit, it would be nice if the FM's could be open source to just a few select modding teams...

I mean, teams that get Oleg's permission to make say, World War 1 mods or such with his game engine. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I think that would be neat, but it won't happen.

S! All!

It'll never happen. The only person who can add a plane to IL2 is Oleg, and there is NO WAY UbiSoft would ever let Oleg release something new for IL2 with FB on the market. There might be a WWI plane someday for FB, but I think I read on this forum a month or two ago that there would be no more 3rd party planes released for FB. If that is the case, then the WWI project is dead. And Oleg has said that he has zero interest in a WWI sim, so that's a no-go as well.

I would be willing to bet my joystick that there will NEVER be a WWI simulation based on this engine. That's too bad too. I'd be the first in line to buy it... I'd LOVE to see it happen, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

I dont know about you guys, but that sim called Birds of Prey looks friggin awesome...the idea is genius. I can't wait for that, but if Oleg makes a WW1 sim along with his new IL-2 Addon, it will definitely find a spot on my hard drive.

You say WW2 simulators get boring? After a rush of WW1 games is over you'll say the same about them. IBTL.

Demo for wings of honor.

Personally I don't like it. Default controller is the mouse,... says enough eh?

IL-2 World War I

What is the IL-2 W.W.I Project?

IL-2 W.WI is an effort to bring W.W.I planes into the W.W.II simulation 'IL-2 Sturmovik' made by 1C::Maddox Games. If enough plane models meeting a defined quality standard are made then there will be a separate W.W.I flightsimulation product for IL-2. The Eastern Front during the years 1914-1920 will be simulated with most but of course not all German and Russian plane types being in active service.

The WW1 Project for IL-2 started when Oleg Maddox from 1C::Maddox Games stated that if enough planes could be made for a major addon or patch he would consider doing it. He has reiterated several times that the planes need to meet the very high standards of IL-2. The add-on or patch would be for the IL-2 follower 'Forgotten Battles'.

While the focus is on planes that flew on the eastern front from 1915 to 1920 during both WW1 and the Civil War, there are also planes accepted that flew elsewhere.

Anyone interested in modelling WW1 planes for IL-2 and who has '3D Studio Max' versions 3.5 or higher should contact Pentallion at ww1project@attbi.com

Learn more about IL-2 Sturmovik on the official website or on the plane modellers' website.

Don't hold your breath for any IL-2 WWI add-on. Knights Over Europe will be out next year and should be excellent. I'd rather see Maddox come out with more theaters of war for IL-2. The Eastern Front is getting a little worn out.

I'll wait til the hard-core, full version reviews come out and decide then.

If they are decent, I'll buy it without question....I love WWI planes.
