When this game first came to my attention I thought "this will split the community, do I want a gam eset in the PAcific? er..no."

Then as the screanshots came out and Im stunned at their beauty I think "Hmm this looks good..infact it looks real good".

Then I imagined great sea battles, off shore bombardment and the feeling of great accomplishment when I finally torpedo a carrier.

Now if a good bit of work goes into creating intense sea battles and a great sense of immersion I will buy this game.

From the first hints by Oleg, it never occured to me not to buy it, split-community (mostly offline anyways), dispersion, rollrates or not. Not important.

I shall pay for it in small coins just to feel the weight lift off my body.

It would have to include some anthrax for me to consider not buying. Probably would anyway, just hold my breath and hope for the best. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Hey I'm sick of the moaners on this forum. Thats why I hardly post.

BUT what Im trying to say is that the Pacific has never really been a theatre which has my interest. However by the look of the screanshots it is winning my cashhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I play offline all the time. I was worried that the support for FB would tail off. However now I dont care. Roll on PF and BOB (which Im going to upgrade my PC for, I wouldnt have done it else)

I'll admit I prefer to shy away from US dominated games (nowt personal, but I like variety). But PF brings back happy memories of 1942 Pacific Air War, nothing quite like dive bombing an a big fat aircraft carrier under heavy fire http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Warm that Dauntless pit for me, i'm a commin'.

Even though the Pacific isn't everyones first theatre of choice (although it is mine). How many of us raised our eyes at the thought of playing an Eastern front simulator and were won over completely?

As for splitting the community. I was a bit concerned too, but now I say bring it on! There is still plenty of life left in the Il-2 engine. Just imagine how wonderfully split this community will be after PF if they can follow it up with a WWI sim, then maybe a Korean war/early jet version. Then Spain or the Med.....

If the IL-2 engine can spawn even half as many new titles as the Quake III engine.
Well-just imagine. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Then, will it not be compatible with AEP?

I knew it was to be a stand-alone, but I hoped it to include or at least merge with FB resources -like planes & maps... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

That will be a serious setback for me to buy... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif
