Hi Guys,

When IL2FB launches and the main menu appears it always plays the Russian tune - is there any way to set it to play German instead?

I personally prefer the Luftwaffe March to the Russian anthem when going through the menu's etc. (I downloaded them from a link one of you guys posted - cheers for that).

So, is it possible? - I've not been able to locate anything in the ini files.

Thanks

Phoenix

I think FB will play whatever wav file is in the samples/music/menu folder. There's a nice piece of sweeping music in the samples/music/intro folder that you could copy to the menu folder. Or you can put any wav file in there. Anything is better than 'rumpity-pumpity-pum' for the 1000th time.
I think the wav has to be the same format though:
MPEG Layer-3 56 kBit/s, 24,000 Hz, Stereo
Hint: the MS Sound Recorder accessory can convert wav files to this format.

Thanks for reply antifreeze, but in the Samples\Music\menu folder I have 10 WAV files: de.wav, ru.wav, fi.wav etc. etc. Tning is, it only plays the Russian (ru) one - over and over again.

Like you say, hearing the original tune for the umpteenth time gets quite boring.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I was curious about this too, how does it know which one to play? I have the Ramones blitzkrig bob in flight folder, but it's the only one in there.

Hi,

Yes, it's a puzzler - can't find any info on this.

There must be a setting somewhere.....

Anyone know of anything?

Cheers

It just plays the ru.wav file in the menu folder.

You want it to play the German one all the time?

Overwrite ru.wav with de.wav, and that's all. Or delete ru.wav, make a copy of de.wav and call it ru.wav.

You can also swap the two files, by changing their names, this is, exchanging them.

And you can put your own music. Make a mono *.mp3 and put in it a *.wav header (CDex can do it). Call it ru.wav or de.wav, or intro.wav, or anything, depending on where you want to hear it...

Sorry, I assumed you knew that it always plays RU.wav as default. Being more explicit this time, you can copy whatever wav file you want to that folder and rename RU.wav, and it will play by default.

For the other wavs to trigger, you have to go to the single missions menu and click on a Nation. The wav for that Nation will start playing and will still play as you move through the other menus.
However, when you return to the menus after playing a game, it will return to playing the default RU.wav
Remember that the wav files have to be the same format (I think).
