I can't verify Syndicate game files using Uplay. "can't verify game files, please reinstall.." but reinstalling is not a solution.

As per YazX_'s instructions:

if UPlay failed to verify game files then there is something wrong in installation and most probably its the cause of your crashes, so first things first, lets repair your game installation by doing the following:

1. Copy the game to a different folder/drive.
2. Uninstall the game from UPlay.
3. Restart UPlay as admin.
4. Click on "Download" button in the game window.
5. when it prompts you for install location, browse to where you copied the game to in step 1.
6. UPlay will discover game files and only download necessary corrupted ones.
7. once finished, play the game and see if it crashes, if yes then verify game files.

if it still doesn't work, try this:

close UPlay and go to this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs (or whichever drive you installed to)

Delete all text files there, open UPlay and try to verify game files and let it fail, then navigate back to that folder and open these files:

service_log.txt
launcher_log.txt

Scroll down to the end and see what is the error posted in these two logs.

Thank you for information. Game is stable. Removing, downloading, copying to another folder and redownloading doesn't help. I can't verify files after installing. service log is empty, launcher_log :

Do you have any other games in UPlay and is this Steam version of the game or UPlay version?

Read that line. That should tell you one thing wrong. Either a AV is getting the way or your user profile in Windows environment has too strict of constraints.

I get the exact same problem with the exact same last lines in the log. Can't update the game...

Hello,

Do you have any other games in UPlay and is this Steam version of the game or UPlay version?

This is Uplay version. I have other games in Uplay account but only Syndicate is installed. Generally I don't have any problems with the game ( only poor SLI optimisation ) but can't verify files. I have installed polish language version.

I found that someone had similar problem with Anno 2205 on Uplay account - https://m.reddit.com/r/anno2205/comments/3t0v2y/anno_2205_not_launching_after_nov16_uplay_client and this problem was resolved by Ubi.

Hi,

I also have this problem.

I have installed from the Retail PC DVDROM (Rooks Edition) and have tried installing twice.

Uplay will not verify the installed files, according to the log because Uplay services [Failed to elevate UplayService] (although the dialog for privilege escalation does appear and is accepted by clicking on yes)..

I have tried running Uplay itself elevated (as Administrator) which makes no difference.

I'm running Windows 8.1 with the latest Uplay.

Hi,

I also have this problem.



For any others having this issue. I fixed it by reinstalling Uplay from https://uplay.ubi.com/ over the top of my existing Uplay install.

Uplay had recently updated itself, apparently badly (and silently). The reinstall has allowed me to verify my Game files for Syndicate and has also downloaded a patch it hadn't seen before.

Hey Guys,

A new update released today for UPlay (as NuclearAnxiety (http://forums.ubi.com/member.php/1910736-NuclearAnxiety) said) and in release notes:

"Fixed an issue that caused game patching not to start under certain circumstances"

Please let UPlay update or download it from www.uplay.com (http://www.uplay.com) and install.
