I've had IL2 since it was released but I never went online with it.

I got FB a month ago and feeling I'd got back into the gamequite well after a long break, I downloaded Hyperlobby and went online yesterday to kick ***.

I did'nt want to fly axis and I had fond memories of the LaGG in IL2 so I took a LaGG and entered a fun dogfight server just to se if everything worked.

I was red and I saw a couple of blue chaps a couple of miles away so I climbed in a gentle circle until I felt like a peregrin falcon about to sweep down for lunch.

I rolled over and swooped on these innocents, laughing to myself all the way down, I was going to feel really good when the first ever online trigger press took somebody down.

I arrived in a perfect position but without any aileronshttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

He rolled and I did'nt, I was doomed.

I would nevr have done that offline what is it about online that screws up yor judgment like this, and as for those who think the LaGG is at an advantage, I envy the 109 jocks, they never wory about their ship commiting suicide under them.

eagerness Oboe, you'll figure it out eventually. In my opinion there is much more "nerve" playing online. You feel a WHOLE lot of more satisfaction when you down a fellow online player, than an AI offline...... thus: eagerness!!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I am not a hardcore gamer, and if I play a computergame, it better be multiplayer online.... so much more fun to interact with real persons...

Cheers mates

I know what you mean Oboe, took me ages to figure out that screaming into battle was not a good idea. My tip is to try to plan ahead. Choose a victim and decide on the best plan of attack for your plane and flying skills. Anticipate what the other guy will do - what are the strengths of his plane etc. If you attack decide beforehand on what your going to do if you miss. I still see people in 109's with gunpods on trying to turn fight a Yak-3 - you can imagine the results of such an encounter.

Oh yeah, speed is life.

Incidentally I'm Sabrat online, but I can't use that name on here.

It gotta be some kind of hunting instinct. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Just look what happens when some1 is damaged and slightly
smoking. This will attract "sharks" from miles away and when they find him there is a line of sharks trailing in circles behind the bleeding one trying to get a bite.

Quite funny actually/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
