Hehe- been fooling around with FB for a couple of weeks in anticipation of PF. I've been playing offline as we have a new puppy who needs to be watched like a hawk; I can hit the pause.... (Cant very well tell the enemy "King's X" in WWII online!)

Anyway, I downloaded the excellent BoB campaign, and I've been flying Hurris. Forgot how hard it was to shoot down bombers! The Hurricane's rifle-caliber guns need to be close, and those seemingly-indestructible AI gunners are also way too accurate. I peppered a Heinkel last night till all my ammo was gone, and he flew away with both engines smoking while my poor Hurri overheated with all it's coolant leaking away.
Least I bailed over friendly territory.

The trick with the .303s is to fire only in high angle deflection against the cockpit or engines. I should know, I am used to using only four of them against bombers...

When attacking He111 with Hurri, you have two "safer" options. The first is head-on attack (there's a great chance you'll kill the pilot). The second one includes a dive wich has a lot of sub-options:
1. dive vertically at him-there's not a single gun on He111 which can shoot upwards.
2. dive from rear quarter and maneuvre while you do it. Don't fly straight. Shoot him from above.
3. dive behind him and then pull up, shooting him from below.
Flying slower or not much faster than him (in astraight line behind him) will most certainly get you full of holes.

I usually go for the "up the belly shot", but closure can be dicey. (Not as bad as head-on,though!)

You should aim at one point only, when you make multiple passes. The engine/wingroot area is excellent for that. Head on's can also be attempted but, this is always very tricky.
