Hi I want to get the new assassins creed for my nephew for Christmas. He plays on his PC. is it worth the extra $30 to get the gold? it gives you a season pass along withthe standard edition. What does that do for him? Is steam the best place to get it?
Thanks for you help!
Susan

I personally pre ordered the gold edition on steam too.

Heres nice summarized info on the gold edition: http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/purchase/index.aspx

Note that not all DLC has been announced yet. I think for example one thing that will soon be announced is this Victorian Legens Pack: http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/home/index.aspx (see the calendar)

Hello and welcome to the forums,

Season pass gives additional contents that will be released in future called DLCs (Downloadable Contents), now is it worth 30$ or not, this is a user preference, you can check the extra contents included in season pass by following this link:

http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-us/purchase/

The Assassin's CreedŽ Syndicate Season Pass secures you access to a variety of additional content and exclusive perks:

The Season Pass is included in the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Gold Edition.

HUNT DOWN JACK THE RIPPER IN AN ALL-NEW CAMPAIGN
THE LAST MAHARAJA MISSION PACK
TWO TOP-TIER SETS OF GEAR AND WEAPONS
THE STREETS OF LONDON GAMEPLAY PACK
EXCLUSIVE ‘A LONG NIGHT’ MISSION
EXCLUSIVE XP BOOST
PLUS MORE!

So its like more missions, weapons, gadgets,...which gives more variety and play time.

Now Regarding Steam, its also a user preference, me personally would buy it from Ubishop (http://www.Ubishop.com)directly since all Ubisoft games require UPlay (software) to launch to play the game, when buying from steam, you need to launch Steam (another software) and UPlay to play the game, that makes two softwares running in the background, some people don't like running two softwares and buy it directly from Ubishop, others don't mind and buy it from steam, so my best advise is to ask your nephew if he is a heavy steam user or not, if yes then steam is the way to go. if asking him is not an option, then get UPlay version from Ubishop (http://www.Ubishop.com) since it will be the safest bet.

I've pre-ordered the gold edition as it is a bargain when considering the extra DLC
