No, I'm not talking about me online. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm talking about a new, simple object in FMB, to be towed by another aircraft, modelled after the drones the airforces used for shooting practice.

Would be easy to add, I guess, because towing is already there. Maybe it would even be possible to add the values of total shots fired and hits scored on that object alone to the mission debrief. That would make not only for immersive training missions but also would be a usefull tool for weapons testing (dispersion, effects of convergance settings at certain range etc.)

Maybe in Pacific Fighters or BoB? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't quote me on this but I think you can already do this in FB. If I remember correctly you can setup a mission where an enemy glider (Me-321) is towed by say a friendly DC-3 or equivalent transport. Actually come to think of it, I think I saw a mission like that in Extreme_One's RAF Campaign. I'll take a look and see if my memory is correct. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

*Edit* I've just taken a look at the RAF Campaign and there is indeed a target-drone enemy glider (G-11 I think) being towed by a friendly DC-3 (or the Russian equivalent) in the 2nd training mission.

Well, I know you can do it with gliders, but I was thinking about modelling the drones used by the airforces for that purpose.

Isn't an enemy plane with lowest AI setting and no weopons a target drone? Use that.

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
Specs:
More expensive than the dining set.
Less expensive than the couch.
Smaller than the dishwasher.
Just as noisy as the refridgerator.
Faster than the cars' computer.
Less practical than the car.
Face it, people who put thier computer specs in thier signature are pretty ****ing wierd.

To DeerHunterUK,

That is exactly what I did for a mission. Had a "red" C-47 towing a "blue" G-11 glider. This was for a wargame / practice environment on some Swiss missions I am putting together, where the Swiss are "red" side. Seemed to work okay, as both aircraft have no guns to fire at each other and when you shoot the target down, you get credit and points. Also saw the same in a Battle of Britain mission somewhere.

Would be also nice to have something a little "smaller" to shoot at for gunnery practice though. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Yhea, maybe a small off line only thing. just say a BF109 or anything of your pick but then with a straight level flightpath. on it's own.

Like RC but then just straight forward keeping it's altitude.

Because ezlse if ya wanna train alot you need a big PC to render both glider and tower
