If you fly the J8 over Moscow in the winter, your wheels disappear, and you get this! I hadn't seen it mentioned before, so if it has, then sorry.

This is just an example of Oleg`s work in this sim, add-ons and patches... You simply won`t discover every thing in a week - or two weeks or months even 1 year from now it`s entirely possible people will still be discoverying new things.

Damn. This is a great sim.

In his excitement to get Ordnance info for Oleg, Hawker made a bit of a mess at the local Library....

Oh neat! Is the Gladiator the plane with that gorgeously textured cockpit? (Forgetful right now) I am probably more eager to sit in that beauty and just admire it more than any other plane in AEP.

Yes Sir! To really appreciate this cockpit you will want to fly it in the afternoon. and do some simple turning, watching the lighting effects as you do. I'm not necesarrily a fan of this plane, but she sure has the prettiest cockpit that has ever been on ANY of my machines. I hope you guys get this REAL soon. So far I haven't been able to last with the skis as the plane always noses over when it stops......tried many times...then gave up...maybe they are water skis...

I haven't tried it yet. Maybe try 3-pointing and holding the stick well back until you come to a halt?

Taildraggers never quit flying until you tie them down. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I make good 3 point landings, pull back on stick........not going too fast and still end up on my nose....

I haven't tried this one yet, but with the other planes, using the rudder will keep the nose up when landing

03-07-2004, 12:16 PM
Landing on skis should be no problem. Maybe the plane is flipping because you're going too fast when you touch down.

Final approach in the J8A, 95-100 km/h

Begin flare over threshhold.
http://uploads.offtopic.com/files/skilanding_02.jpg

3-point not necessary.
http://uploads.offtopic.com/files/skilanding_03.jpg

Remember folks, it's a taildragger. Fly it like one. (that means keep the stick BACK when you touch down)
http://uploads.offtopic.com/files/skilanding_04.jpg

Glides to a halt even before the first turnoff. Taxiing in the sim is tricky without differential brakes.
